We have known for years that dead Democrats still vote, but now a new precedent has been set: Dead Democrats also post posthumously to social media, especially when it is to condemn President Donald Trump over his dismantling of the Department of Education.
On Thursday, Rep. Raúl M. Grijalva (D-AZ) passed away due to complications from treatment for lung cancer. Because of this battle, Grijalva has been mostly absent on Capitol Hill, and hadn't cast a vote since being sworn in on January 3, and voting for Rep. Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) for Speaker of the House. We all know how that went.
A correspondent from the Tucson Sentinel, who named Grijalva as a mentor, said the quiet part out loud: it was time for the 77-year old, who held the title of longest-serving Arizona congressman, to step aside. Despite a few statements and X posts about Trump and Elon/DOGE Resistance, Grijalva was essentially too weak to even travel back to the Capitol over the last few weeks.
Ultimately, the decision was out of his hands.
Grijalva had been largely absent from Congress since the beginning of the year due to his health struggles. He was set to retire from the House at the end of this term and had stepped aside from his position as the top Democrat on the House Natural Resources Committee.
So it was curious that soon after Grijalva's staff posted the announcement of his death to his X account, that this extremely lengthy post appeared.

President Trump’s latest reckless decision to fire thousands of employees at the Department of Education jeopardizes critical student aid programs, weakens protections for students’ civil rights, and undermines essential support for students with disabilities. This move severely threatens every child’s access to a quality education nationwide.
Trump and Musk are prioritizing tax cuts for the wealthy over the future of our students. It’s selfish, and it’s illegal. This radical gutting of the Department will mean funding cuts for every student:
- 26 million kids across every school district—rural, suburban and urban—will lose access to critical funding to help them get succeed.
- 12 million students will lose access to career and technical education, including pathways to good-paying jobs through apprenticeship programs in trades and STEM careers.
- 10 million students from low-income families could lose access to higher education.
- 7.5 million students with Individualized Education Plans—accounting for 15 percent of all students nationwide —will lose access to special education services.
Last I checked, dead men don't post on social media. But being Grijalva was a Democrat, there are obviously exceptions. it was an important enough message that despite the fact that the congressman was quite dead, the message was still posted. After all, Trump firing nearly half the employees at the Department of Education was indeed the end of the world—or at least the ending of those in-kind campaign contributions from the teachers union for his living colleagues running for re-election.
This is yet another reflection of the coordinated, lockstep campaigns of the Democrat Party blowing up in their faces. Instead of being savvy and on the mark, they come off braindead, and in the case of this one, downright awful. After posting the statement on his death, Grijalva's intern should have ensured this post never saw the light of day. Yet, it did go out, business as usual, and as of this writing, no mea culpas or apologies have been issued. This is rank incompetence, not to mention extremely poor taste.
This poor man is dead you disgusting excuses for humans puppeting his account. You should be ashamed of yourselves. Why are Democrats always the WORST people??

Who would have thought that maximum cringe for Democrats wasn't those identical videos of Democrat Congressional representatives swearing and parroting, verbatim, the same script, or ancient and uncoordinated female representatives awkwardly cosplaying a video game called, "Choose Your Fighter," but a dead Democrat representative post to X after he's been declared dead. Wasn't on my bingo card, yet, here we are.
If Democrats don't find their chill, they'll continue this downhill slide into embarrassment, irrelevance, and then oblivion.
