Now that the media thinks the Presidential Election is settled, the Georgia Senate runoff is getting heavy press. For Republicans to keep control of the Senate, they need to hold on to the two Georgia seats currently up for grabs. Senators Kelly Loeffler and David Perdue both failed to gain 50 percent of the votes in their contest, so now they must face a runoff election in January with their opponents: Jon Ossoff, and Reverend Raphael Warnock, both Democrats.
With some races still being decided (North Carolina, Alaska) the current count of the Senate is 48 Republican-48 Democrat. If both the Georgia seats go Democrat, there will be an even split in the Senate, giving a Vice President Kamala Harris the tie-breaking vote.
So, it is crucial Republicans hold on to the majority. Here’s why.
Healthcare
In October, Georgia Governor Brian Kemp signed into law the Patients First Act in 2019, which gives Georgia the ability to offer federally subsidized health insurance through private brokers. From the local KTAR News:
“Georgia will become the first state to offer federally subsidized health insurance to its residents only through private brokers under a plan being approved by President Donald Trump’s administration.
“A separate part of the plan would offer Medicaid to some of the state’s poorest able-bodied adults, but only on the condition that they work, volunteer, receive job training or attend school.
“ ‘This opportunity will help hardworking Georgians climb the ladder, while having a health care safety net below them. We are making insurance accessible for those who need the most,’ ” Republican Gov. Brian Kemp said in an announcement Thursday at the state Capitol.
“Opponents have attacked the plan’s failure to fully expand Medicaid, say work requirements will be a bureaucratic nightmare for recipients and warn that letting private companies control Georgia’s insurance marketplace could decrease enrollment because people are used to shopping at Healthcare.gov.”
Giving people greater opportunity and more competition in their health insurance choices levels the playing field and will help keep premiums low, something the Affordable Care Act (ACA) promised, but did not deliver.
However, it’s another brick out of the already crumbling Affordable Care Act, and Democrats do not like this.
Astroturf organizations like Stacey Abrams’s Fair Fight Action and Really American are painting the Senate race as a fight over Healthcare. Really American claims that Loeffler and Perdue want to take healthcare away.
Perdue and Loeffler have been clear about their desire to take your healthcare away. We must defeat them and deliver President Biden the senate. Retweet and chip in here to help us beat them and give Americans the healthcare they need. https://t.co/9hBf5TopyV

Loeffler and Perdue support Gov. Kemp’s actions, so this could not be further from the truth. Loeffler applauded Gov. Kemp’s strides to “get creative in caring for his state’s residents.” Perdue is on record calling for the repeal of the ACA while working on state-level solutions for an alternative to it.
But if voters can be swayed by this falsehood, they will be more likely to vote for the candidate who claims to protect their healthcare.
Right-to-Work/ Firewall Against PRO Act and S.4378
Georgia has been a Right to Work state since 1947, and has created a friendly climate for businesses to grow there, as well as for people of all skill levels to be able to locate meaningful work. I have had more than one friend move from business hostile (and now locked down) California to Georgia because of this. Right to Work laws allow workers the freedom of employment without forced membership in a labor union or forced payment to a union boss. However, this will be destroyed under a Biden-Harris administration.
Both Biden and Harris have vowed to ban Right to Work laws. These laws are across 26 other states, and protect 166 million Americans—this is more than half the U.S. population.
While campaigning, Joe Biden said,
“We should change the federal law [so] that there is no Right to Work allowed anywhere in the country. For real. Not a joke. Not a joke.”
The selected Biden-Harris team has also vowed to take AB5 nationally with the PRO Act and S.4378, the so-called Worker Flexibility and Small Business Protection Act. Both bills are on the table in the Senate now, and if Senator Chuck Schumer gets control of the Senate, they will pass both.
The horrors AB5 has wrought on the state of California have been seen everywhere, but we have a so-called president-elect who will insist on removing the ability to work as you choose on a national level. Their intent is to increase Labor Union power, power that has been diminishing thanks to states like Georgia.
We cannot allow this to happen.
Democrats are motivated and organized. Republicans are disorganized and behind.
While Republicans were laughing at Stacey Abrams’s claims to have won the Georgia governorship in 2018, she was working to build an infrastructure to influence the next vote. Abrams and her Fair Fight Action organization have been credited in winning Georgia for Biden and seeding these Senate runoffs.

“Abrams is the former House minority leader and 2018 nominee for governor.
“More importantly, Abrams used her years in elected office to create a vast infrastructure to find, register, and turn out Democratic voters in the state, especially those in minority communities who had long been overlooked by Democratic party leaders.
“First through the New Georgia Project and later through Fair Fight and Fair Fight Action, Abrams elevated voter turnout, and more specifically voter suppression, as a top priority for Democratic leaders and activists across the country.”
The Republicans will spend the next 4 years litigatin' this election instead of helpin' the American people. We must do all we can to take both Georgia Senate seats and end this foolishness. https://t.co/F2JS3FttSY

This group, as well as Really American, is mobilizing on the ground and through Social Media, which is fully owned by the Left and in league with seeing Georgia flip fully Blue.

The moment Mitch McConnell and the other Republican senators really show up to support a fair election, I’m in. Until then, they deserve to lose the senate and every election going forward.

Whatever your feelings on the state of the White House, the stakes for your life, your employment, and your freedoms are still on the ballot. Biden-Harris’s transition team is already packed full of Democrat and leftist ideologues who are looking to restrict your freedoms. The only firewall against that is a Senate that will hold the line for its citizens.
Conservatives, we need to keep the Senate. Time to support the Georgia Senate Republican nominees.
Follow @KLoeffler and @Perduesenate.

We need to act now to ensure this. Time’s a wasting.
