Rumor has it that Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is sending a group of migrants to President Joe Biden’s vacation home in Delaware. While the governor’s office has not yet confirmed that this is the case, speculation is spreading about more flights heading to blue areas of the country.
When asked about the rumors, President Biden told reporters: “He should come visit. We have a beautiful shoreline.”
Last week, DeSantis flew about 50 Venezuelan migrants to Marth’s Vineyard, a bastion for wealthy, white progressive elitists. Needless to say, the residents were quite unsettled after seeing a bunch of brown people showing up in their neighborhoods who were not dressed as maids or gardeners.
While DeSantis has not indicated whether he was transporting more migrants to Delaware, “Flight records indicate that one of the same flights that DeSantis reportedly tapped to fly immigrants from Texas to Martha’s Vineyard was headed to Delaware Coastal Airport on Tuesday,” according to the Washington Examiner.
Apparently, the White House heard the reports as well, and is preparing for this next round of political theater.
“We’re aware of the reports, and continue to prepare for the possibility of migrants arriving in Delaware unannounced. Our teams at DEMA and DHSS are working with community organizations and other partners to make sure that migrants who arrive here have the support that they need,” said Emily David, Gov. John Carney’s director of communications.
White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said during a press conference on Tuesday that the administration is “coordinating closely with state officials and local service officials who are prepared to welcome these families in an orderly manner as they pursue their asylum claims.”
Of course, anyone paying attention to border politics over the past year can see that Biden’s invitation to DeSantis is quite tone deaf, considering that the president, to this day, still refuses to visit the border. Indeed, he has not been anywhere near the southern border since taking office in 2021.
This reality is not lost on Texans living in border towns, who told Fox News that Biden should come and view the situation at the border.
“Biden should come and visit the border and take a look at the problem,” said Oralia, who works at a general goods store close to a border town.
Another indicated that the president needs to see for himself what is happening at the southern border.
“Biden doesn’t care for the south border,” he said. “I think [former President] Trump has come more.”
Vice President Kamala Harris made a trip to the border – sorta – in June last year. Of course, it took aggressive criticism from people on both sides to finally push her to do her job, but better late than never, right?
“I would like to see Joe Biden here in the border so he can see the problem himself, which is a big problem,” said Laura Ramos, who runs a store in Eagle Pass.
She said she blames Biden for the trouble at the border.
To make matters worse, Homeland Security released numbers revealing that a disturbing number of immigrants are being allowed to enter the country, according to Breitbart News. From the report:
The 1.15 million economic migrants were allowed to cross the border under a series of legal excuses. They have been accompanied by roughly 500,000 additional job-seeking migrants who sneaked or rushed past Biden’s small force of distracted border guards.
The 1.15 million migrants were more than half of the two million migrants who arrived at the border. Few of them were flown home — so many of the rejected migrants were later able to sneak across the border.
The administration has also allowed another million legal immigrants, visa holders, and others looking for work, but posing as short-term tourists. “These migrants carry green cards, or H-1B, L-1, J-1, TN, F-1, or B-1/B-2 visas,” Breitbart noted.
Even more galling is the reality that this influx is “adding roughly three migrants for every four Americans who will be born this year,” according to the report.
No wonder the White House is doing everything it can to avoid doing something about the migrant crisis. Over the past few months, they have taken to trying to gaslight the public into believing that there is no problem to speak of. Vice President Harris said last week that the border is “secure,” with a straight face.
In light of this, it’s hard to blame Texas Gov. Greg Abbott and DeSantis for busing migrants to blue cities. The Biden administration will not do the right thing unless they are pressured by folks on both sides of the aisle – and even then, Biden may still try to hold out for as long as possible. But at this point, one thing is clear: Blue cities are going to receive even more migrants in their communities–as long as Biden continues importing illegals and migrants.
