You’ve already heard the news about President Joe Biden reopening one of the facilities the Trump administration used to house migrant children who cross the border without their parents, right? Instead of eliciting widespread outrage from the left, it has only prompted activist media outlets like The Washington Post to defend Biden’s apparent hypocrisy on the matter of unaccompanied minors.

White House press secretary Jen “Circle Back” Psaki on Tuesday defended the move, claiming that it wasn’t the same policy that Trump imposed. RedState’s Bonchie noted, “When you actually study the situation, nothing has really changed from the Trump administration. In fact, photos leaked today showing the expanded migrant children housing being used under Biden. They are shipping containers (or “temporary buildings” depending on your semantics) with a barred window and a locked door. That’s about as ‘in cages’ as it gets.”

So, as if we didn’t already know this, it is now even more apparent that the Democrats and their close friends and allies in the activist media never truly cared about migrant children being temporarily placed in cages. Indeed, the kids were nothing more than political pawns they sought to weaponize against former President Donald Trump and conservatives in general.

However, if one steps back and takes a harder look at the far-left, they will realize that these people don’t seem to care about much of anything, or anyone, at all.

Remember how incensed so-called progressives became when social media posts published by Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) emerged? They engaged in the usual wailing and gnashing of teeth over anti-Semitic comments that the lawmaker made. Democrats pretended to be so outraged that they voted to remove her from her committee assignments even though her remarks were made before she took office.

But if one takes a short trip down memory lane, they might recall that the Democrats did not have this same energy when Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) made anti-Jewish remarks while serving as a lawmaker. While some on the left criticized her, Democratic leadership decided that the best punishment was a stern scolding from House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.

That’s it. No censure. No removal from committees. Because the left does not care about Jews or anti-Semitism.

We would also be remiss if we forgot how the left took advantage of the killings of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, and Ahmaud Arbery to push their Marxist agenda. As sections of cities burned and Americans had businesses destroyed, the far left took the opportunity to push for the defunding of the police despite the fact that black Americans disapproved of such a measure.

It is not difficult to imagine that ensuring that fewer police officers would have a disproportionately negative impact on black lives. Indeed, most of the individuals pushing for defunding will never have to worry about the consequences of such an initiative.

But this is not a surprise because the far-left does not care about black people. In fact, the last thing on their minds is actually safeguarding black lives.

To sum it all up, the left does not actually care about racism, anti-Semitism, sexism, and all the ‘phobes nor are they concerned with the people on the receiving end of these ideas. These are merely issues to be weaponized against the right whenever possible, nothing more, nothing less.

So the question is: Does the far-left care about anything?

Of course they do. They care about one thing: Power.

So-called progressives pretend to care about bigotry because it helps them obtain and keep power. It is a manipulation that they use to smear their political opponents.

What is most insidious about the left’s lack of authentic concern for disaffected groups of people is that it means they rarely, if ever, promote solutions that help to alleviate their problems. Indeed, they wish to keep these people in their adverse circumstances because this is how they keep their support.

Even worse, using bigotry as a cudgel prevents the right from gaining power or influence. When they manage to convince Americans that conservatives are raging bigots, it becomes easier to dismiss their ideas. It’s a clever strategy that has worked for decades. Unfortunately, its use has caused far more damage than benefit to those being used as pawns.
