They were already planning to censor you since long before the riots at the U.S. Capitol occurred. In fact, they already wanted to remove President Trump from their platforms. Unfortunately, the rioters gave them the excuse they needed and moved their timetable forward.

Still, the far-left is not done yet. Their assault on free speech will go far beyond blocking conservatives from social media platforms. They have other plans in store for the First Amendment.

Let me lift the veil for you and start with the law itself. Several media activists have argued for the creation of new laws to crack down on what they call “hate speech” over the past few years. Entrepreneur and blogger Sam Altman echoed a sentiment that many other leftists have espoused in a post on Twitter. “There are exemptions to free speech defined by the Supreme Court, and we urgently need new ones for the age of social media,” he wrote. “What those exceptions are should be decided by the government, and fairly applied by companies.”

Others on the left have savaged the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) for daring to defend right-wing extremists groups’ right to free speech. The New York Times even published a piece claiming that unacceptable speech is tantamount to physical violence.

But, in the wake of the riots, some on the left are already calling for more extreme actions against conservative speech, attacking right-leaning media companies like Fox News, Newsmax, and others. Corporate media activist Margaret Sullivan recently wrote a piece for The Washington Post in which she claimed that conservative media outlets were responsible for the riots.

She wrote:

“On Wednesday, as surreal scenes unfolded, some Fox anchors and commentators couldn’t seem to change their tune, even as they tut-tutted about violence.

Martha MacCallum called the invasion of the Capitol “a huge victory” for the rioters (my word choice, not hers) because they “have disrupted the system in an enormous way.” Maybe it was just a gaffe; if so, a bad one. And it was jarring to hear Harris Faulkner echo Trump’s deceptive language with her references to his ‘Stop the Steal’ rally.”

But one troubling trend that has emerged is radical leftist suggesting that they target cable companies for hosting conservative networks. “We regularly discuss what the Big Tech companies have done to poison the public conversation by providing large platforms to bad-faith actors who lie, mislead, and promote conspiracy theories. But what about TV companies that provide platforms to networks such as Newsmax, One America News — and, yes, Fox News?” he insisted.

But Darcy isn’t the only one.

Angelo Carusone, head of leftist propaganda mill Media Matters also called for such an action. “Love this idea. They helped incite violence and they a covid misinformation factory. They’ll only get worse,” he tweeted.

Tucker is freaking out. He tells is audience that people may try and get cable companies to stop carrying Fox News.

Left-wing social media activists Sleeping Giants echoed these sentiments. “Fox News continues to be a radicalizing force in our country and it is supported by ad dollars from major corporations and cable companies that have expressed grave concerns about what happened this week,” they tweeted.

So, just to recap, the far-left wants to change our nation’s laws regarding speech and pressure cable companies into refusing to host news outlets that don’t peddle progressive propaganda on their networks. It appears that they believe that after these riots, now is the time to start making moves in this direction.

Now that they control both chambers of Congress and the presidency, we can definitely expect them to try to use the government to silence us. Moreover, it seems that they are intent on forcing companies to fall in line with their anti-speech agenda. The time is now for conservatives to start fighting back. We won’t like what happens if they win this battle.
