Hillary Clinton Colluded With Russia and the Corporate Media Doesn’t Care

Once upon a time, a presidential candidate named Hillary Clinton resorted to drastic measures to defeat her opponent, Donald Trump. However, during the campaigning season, she realized that her past sins during her tenure as secretary of state were catching up with her. So, in an act of desperation, her team concocted a false narrative claiming that Trump was collaborating with the Russian government to swing the result of the election in his favor.

Unfortunately for Clinton, her grand scheme failed miserably, and Trump won the election, much to her disappointment. But later, it became apparent that it was her campaign that was working with Russians to dig up dirt on Trump to use against him during the campaign. Indeed, her campaign hired a former British spy named Christopher Steele, who compiled a mostly-debunked dossier full of salacious allegations against Trump with the help of members of Russia’s government.

Now that National Intelligence Director John Ratcliffe declassified important documents pertaining to the fiasco, more information has come to light. On Saturday, author and journalist Andrew McCarthy penned a piece explaining the contents of the declassified documents.

He wrote:

“In late July 2016, Hillary Clinton, in an effort to divert attention from the email scandal that was haunting her presidential bid, directed her campaign to peddle a political narrative that Russia’s suspected hacking and leaking of Democratic Party emails was in furtherance of a conspiracy between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump to swing the election to Trump.”

But even worse, it appears that Clinton wasn’t alone in perpetuating the Trump/Russia collusion myth. McCarthy also notes that she had “a willing and able partner in the Obama administration — very much including its intelligence and law-enforcement apparatus.”

To put it simply, Clinton’s campaign worked with Russian agents to come up with damaging material on Trump and then spread the Russia collusion lie with the help of the Obama administration. Ratcliffe sent a letter to the Senate Judiciary Committee explaining that the U.S.’s intelligence agencies were able to “obtain insight” into the Russian intelligence analysis that found that Clinton devised the scheme.

It appears that the Clinton campaign took one of the most relevant maxims of dirty politics to heart: “Always accuse your opponent of that which you are doing.” Of course, we already knew about Clinton’s collaboration with Russia when more information about the compiling of Steele’s dossier emerged.

But even back then, the establishment media seemed conspicuously uninterested in this particular turn of events. While they howled, screamed, and moaned about the allegations that Trump was working with the Kremlin to influence the 2016 election, they were deafeningly silent when they learned of Clinton’s Russian connection.

Now, with the revelations contained in the declassified documents, they have gone into full spin mode, downplaying the story, which confirmed what many already knew. They are latching on to one key phrase in Ratcliffe’s letter, hoping that they can create enough doubt to make the story go away. McCarthy noted:

“Ratcliffe’s initial revelation came with a caveat: While our spy agencies judged Moscow’s analysis about Clinton to be authentic (in the sense of truly being a Russian intel product), they could not vouch for its accuracy (i.e., it might reflect what the Russians really believed, but it might alternatively be exaggeration or fabrication).”

But the author also pointed out that “This was not a wobble. Intelligence agencies sweep up scads of information, and they must always grade its reliability with a skeptical eye to avoid deluding themselves.”

However, none of this matters to a progressive media apparatus that seeks to destroy Trump while protecting those within its ranks. It can be certain that they will not give this story the coverage it deserves, especially when we’re so close to a critical election. You’ve got to give it to them: Members of the corporate press excel at being partisan hacks disguised as journalists.
