Remember When More Than 50 % of Democrats Believed Bush Was Complicit In 9/11 Attacks?

So the left is in a tizzy over a poll showing 52% of Republicans think Donald Trump won the popular vote. Here’s how the Washington Post put it:

Twenty-nine percent said Donald Trump won the popular vote. This is a slightly larger proportion than in a recent Pew survey in which 19 percent said Trump won the popular vote.

Respondents’ correct understanding of the popular vote depended a great deal on partisanship. A large fraction of Republicans — 52 percent — said Trump won the popular vote, compared with only 7 percent of Democrats and 24 percent of independents.

“Astonishing.”

It’s not all that astonishing. It’s not out of the realm of possibility for somebody to equate Trump’s win with a popular vote win.

A poll that is truly astonishing is one taken in 2011 that showed more than half of Democrats in the United States believed President George W. Bush was complicit in the 9/11 attacks:

“How likely is it that people in the federal government either assisted in the 9/11 attacks or took no action to stop the attacks because they wanted the United States to go to war in the Middle East?” the poll asked.

A full 22.6% of Democrats said it was “very likely.” Another 28.2% called it “somewhat likely.”

That is: More than half of Democrats, according to a neutral survey, said they believed Bush was complicit in the 9/11 terror attacks.

Republican voters may be wrong to believe Trump won the popular vote. Democrats are little loony tunes for believing Bush knew about the attacks and took no action to stop them.
