1. We must fight! I repeat it, sir, we must fight!
As a graduate of Mr. Jefferson’s University, I am obliged to promote it yet again, of course. However, I have always felt the Declaration understandably but unfortunately overshadows the many steps that got us to that point. One of those, of course, was fellow Virginian Patrick Henry’s famous speech delivered at St. John’s Church in 1775. That speech is famous for the line, “Give me liberty or give me death,” and for good reason – but the speech in its entirety says so much more about the cause for freedom.Of note: There is no longer any room for hope. If we wish to be free– if we mean to preserve inviolate those inestimable privileges for which we have been so long contending–if we mean not basely to abandon the noble struggle in which we have been so long engaged, and which we have pledged ourselves never to abandon until the glorious object of our contest shall be obtained–we must fight! I repeat it, sir, we must fight! An appeal to arms and to the God of hosts is all that is left us!Enjoy the speech in its entirety and God Bless America. Please click here for the rest of the post.
2. Hooray for America the Dependent
Let’s hear it for freedom! Ain’t it grand?Let’s hear it for all those old souls who died to give us this nation, where we can be free from want, worry, fidelity, and responsibility. Where we can be free to expect a self-affirming career and a McMansion, free from the stress of competition or struggle, free to demand what’s coming to us.Let’s cheer for the parade of people who made all of this possible: the politicians, the bureaucrats, the union heads, the activists, the community workers. They’re the folks who put things back on the right track, toward balance and harmony, acceptance of everything and rejection of nothing, except those things they agree everyone should reject.Let’s give thanks for the people who work so hard to organize our society properly, who came up with a plan and made it happen, who make sure we don’t have to make decisions about our health care, our schools, our banks, our cars, or the salt in our food. It’s so tough to make up your mind, and it’s good to know an expert somewhere is taking care of it.Please click here for the rest of the post.
3. Media Matters Continues Debunked Claim that Kagan is Not Hostile to 2nd Amendment
Media Matters for America is pulling out all the stops to support the nomination of Elena Kagan to the Supreme Court. I dared to write a blog post criticizing Elena Kagan’s lifetime of anti-gun activism as evidence of the way Kagan would act and vote as Supreme Court justice. Media Matters targeted a few of my claims to criticize, yet they ignored the meat of my blog post. Media Matters wants Americans to think that Elena Kagan is not hostile to the 2nd Amendment — that claim does not pass the laugh test no matter how many times they write it. Liberals need to be honest and say that they don’t believe that the Second Amendment should be an individual right incorporated against the states, therefore they support a nominee who believes the same. 4. NY Dem Donors Discover Elementary Self-Respect.
A fascinating bit of trivia for people out there: if you’re a Democrat, and you go keep telling a group of folks- in this case, Wall Street and other wealthy New York Democratic donors – that they’re unmitigated scum who need to be drained of every drop of their dirty money if they want to avoid being lynched by an angry Mob led by the White House and Congressional Democrats – hey, guess what happens! They stop giving Democrats money! No! Really! They do!Please click here for the rest of the post.
5. Jane Norton: AARP Lobbyist During Hillarycare Fight
Recently Jane Norton gave an interview to the Colorado Statesman. There is this curious exchange in it:
CS: Did you used to work for AARP?
JN: I did, I did.CS: What did you do for them?
JN: I was — gosh, what was my title? Oh, that was so long ago. I’m sorry, can I get back with you on that? I can’t even remember what it was.CS: I don’t think it’s on your bio. Is there any reason for that?
JN: No, no.
Curious, ain’t it. She doesn’t remember and it is not in her bio.Well, how about we go through the wayback time machine and see what we can uncover. Please click here for the rest of the post.
6. Crazed Sex Poodle update.
This week was the calm before the storm: they’ve reopened the case, possibly because there may be DNA evidence on a pair of pants, and possibly because it looks bad when there’s even a suggestion that the rich and powerful can count on sexual assault allegations… going away. Please click here for the rest of the post.
