Republican Harrison Floyd, a former U.S. marine, is running for Congress in Georgia’s 7th District. Floyd, a fourth-generation military veteran, recently put out an impressive ad in which he promises to fight the socialists in Congress just as he fought the terrorists overseas.

In the ad, Floyd says, “I’m running for Congress because my family and I didn’t fight for our freedom to allow our country to fall to socialism. I’ll fight socialists in Congress the same way I fought terrorists in the desert. So help me God.”

The video first shows Floyd’s marine uniform decorated with medals and service badges. Then it displays a photo of AOC and Sen. Bernie Sanders because, of course, both are self-described socialists. Finally, there is footage of Floyd shooting a gun during one of his three overseas deployments with the marines.

I was certainly impressed. It’s a powerful ad. Which is why Democrats and the mainstream media are accusing him of inciting violence and have begun a smear campaign against him on social media.

Floyd’s opponent in the general election, Democrat Carolyn Bourdeaux, has requested that he take down the offensive video. She tweeted, “I’ve called on Harrison Floyd to take down the video that shows him firing a gun while saying that he will treat his political opponents like terrorists. This rhetoric is dangerous and it prevents us from making progress on the important issues we face.”

Actually, the most important issue is preventing the U.S. from sliding into socialism.

In another tweet, Bourdeaux said, “Violence has absolutely no place in our public discourse and I denounce this abhorrent video in the strongest possible terms. This message doesn’t represent GA values and for Harrison Floyd to enter this race by inciting violence is wrong.”

Undaunted, Floyd responded, “This is how the Left tries to shut us up. They don’t want people to hear the truth so they try to ban our message. Or they get Facebook or Twitter to do it for them…”

“We need BRAINS in Congress, not BRAWN!”

Thankfully, he has some supporters as well, one of whom jumped to his defense after seeing that last tweet.

“He got a B.A. and Masters from George Washington Univ (both w/honors) as well as a Certificate in Finance Leadership from Yale…. all in 4 1/2 years. I think he has both.”

“Harrison Floyd, do not pull your ad. The last time I checked this was still AMERICA.”

Worse yet is an article which appeared in the New York Post last week entitled “Georgia GOP candidate appears to threaten Ocasio-Cortez, Sanders in video” by Shant Shahrigian. He writes, “A congressional candidate in Georgia is targeting Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Sen. Bernie Sanders all but literally.” Oh, FFS.

Keep it up Dems. You’ve just catapulted this impressive young man into the national news.
