MSNBC's Nicole Wallace and CNN's Anderson Cooper Go to Bat for Pelosi Over "Stammering" Video

Liberals sure are upset about the video of Nancy Pelosi stammering her way through a press conference tweeted by Trump on Thursday.

First, they claimed the video was doctored. (My colleague Brandon Morse debunked that theory here.)

Next, YouTube removed the video. A spokesman said, “YouTube has clear policies that outline what content is not acceptable to post and we remove videos violating these policies when flagged to us. These videos violated our policies and have been removed.”

Facebook refused to take down the video. CNN’s Anderson Cooper was extremely upset that the giant social media company would keep the “clearly doctored video” portraying the “third most powerful person in the country” in such a negative light. He invited Facebook’s VP for Product Policy and Counterterrorism, Monika Bickert, on to his program to explain.

Bickert explained to Cooper, “First off, I think the suggestion there is that we haven’t taken action. In fact, we have acted…As soon as we get a rating from our fact checking organizations that content is false, then we dramatically reduce the exposure of that content and we let them know that it is false so they can make an informed choice.”

Cooper insists on knowing why they still keep it up on their site?

Bickert tells him that, since there’s been so much discussion about this video, people should be able to view it.

At 5:20 in the video below, Cooper becomes extremely rude to his guest. He says, “You’re making money by being in the news business. If you don’t do it well, shouldn’t you just get out of the news business?”

By that measure, shouldn’t CNN “just get out of the business” too?

First, I understand where Bickert is coming from. People are talking about this video, real or doctored. Facebook offers their opinion that it’s false and allow their customers to make their own determination.

If only CNN would do the same on their website. They present fake news everyday as if it’s real.

Twitchy’s “Doug P” remarked that, “Maybe Brian Stelter should have Dan Rather back on “Reliable Sources” to discuss why they think Facebook should be disqualified from participating in the “news business.””

Next, we move over to MSNBC’s Nicole Wallace who conducts a little experiment. She slows down a recording of herself and then one of President Trump to prove that the Nancy Pelosi video was doctored. (Relevant segment should be teed up at 32:30.)

Guests included 2016 Clinton campaign communications director, Jennifer Palmieri and Al Sharpton. Discussion revolved around Trump’s treatment of “strong women.” You may want to give that a pass!

Whether or not this particular video was doctored, the fact remains that videos of Nancy Pelosi searching for words, stammering, referring to Trump as Bush and losing her train of thought seem to pop up with greater frequency than ever before. This is not new news. It is evident to many that her cognitive abilities have declined.

For her part, Pelosi told reporters that the President was engaged in a cover-up five minutes before attending a scheduled meeting with him. When she arrived at the White House,  Trump was angry as anyone would be if they’d just been publicly slandered. Pelosi spoke again to reporters and expressed concern over Trump’s mental condition, suggesting that his family stage an intervention for the “good of the country.”

All is fair Nancy.
