Pelosi to DHS Secretary Kirsten Nielsen: 'I Reject Your Facts'

During the White House border-security meeting on Wednesday, Homeland Security Secretary Kirsten Nielsen presented a report on current conditions at the southern border. New Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi told Nielsen, “I reject your facts.” To which Nielsen responded, “These are not my facts. These are the facts.”

Fox News’ Lukas Mikelionis said the statistic that pushed Pelosi over the edge was, “border officials along the U.S.-Mexico border had apprehended about 3,000 people with terrorist ties and 17,000 criminals last year.”

When I envision Nancy Pelosi’s strong reaction to hearing about what is the reality of the situation, I picture her as the Wicked Witch of the West in “The Wizard of Oz” in the scene where Dorothy throws water on her and she shrieks, “I’m melting. Ahhhhh.” I suppose she has to do this. The Democrats must maintain their denial in order to justify their opposition to the wall.

Later, Nielsen tweeted about the exchange. “I am disappointed that Dems did not want to hear from @DHSgov about the security & humanitarian crisis we are facing at the border. They didn’t want to hear about criminal aliens, drug smugglers, smuggled & abused children or violent caravans trying to breach the border wall.”

She added, “The crisis is not going away-it is getting worse. The status quo in funding & authorities for #DHS is irresponsible & makes our country less secure. Kicking the can down the road is not the answer. I look forward to engaging w Members who want to.”

Sen. Dick Durbin (D-IL) also attended the meeting and later told Bloomberg that Nielsen’s presentation was not credible. He said, “It was preposterous. At a time when we have the lowest level of apprehensions at the border — stopping people from coming in illegally — the lowest level historically, she is saying that we have all these terrorists and criminals and all these people on their way in.”

Democrats are well aware of how the situation at the border has deteriorated, but they must continue to publicly deny it, because the truth is that illegal immigrants provide them with a steady stream of new voters. In Don Bongino’s book, “Spygate,” he details the many ways that illegals are able to vote in elections throughout the US. The analysis is astounding.

There are numerous ways for illegals to become enfranchised. In many states, it’s as easy as checking off the “yes” box on a voter registration application.

Bongino writes: “The 1993 National Voter Registration Act allows people to register to vote when they apply for a driver’s license and expressly forbids DMV officials from discouraging anyone from registering.” Note who was in office when this legislation was enacted.

Democrats minimize the impact of illegal voting, but the truth is that some US elections have actually been decided by these votes. Many believe that illegal votes were responsible for Al Franken’s election to the Senate.

Prior to the 2016 election, a Pennsylvania legislator “expressed alarm that not only were noncitizens registered to vote, but were actively encouraged to vote by the state government. The problem was the state’s Motor Voter system.” Bongino cites the resignation of Pennsylvania’s chief elections officer in 2017 after it was revealed that “in 2012, 59 city precincts in Philadelphia somehow failed to record a single vote for Mitt Romney.”

Did I forget to mention that 70-80% of all illegals vote for Democrats?

Long story short, the last thing Democrats want to see is a reduction in the number of illegals streaming into the US and they will do “whatever it takes” to prevent the construction of a border wall because they know how effective it would be.

After a second meeting with congressional leaders on Friday failed to achieve any progress, Trump told reporters the shutdown “could last for “years” and said he could even declare a “national emergency” to bypass Congress if necessary to build the wall.”

“We can call a national emergency [to build a border wall] because of the security of our country. I may do it. If we can do it through a negotiated process, we’re giving it a shot.”
