Pelosi Defends Attempts To Continue Debate Privately: She Didn't Want To Tell President In Front Of Press, 'You Don't Know What You're Talking About'

During Tuesday’s contentious Oval Office meeting with President Trump, Nancy Pelosi suggested several times that they move the debate into a private setting, rather than continue in front of reporters.

At one point, Pelosi said “We came in here in good faith and we enter into this kind of a discussion in the public view.”

Trump responded “It’s not bad Nancy. It’s called transparency.”

When questioned by reporters after the conference, she answered:

We didn’t want to contradict the President when he was putting forth figures that had no reality to them, no basis in fact. We have to, if we’re going to proceed in all of this, have evidence based, factual, truthful information about what works and what doesn’t.

I didn’t want to say in front of those people “You don’t know what you’re talking about.”

Nancy, tell us the real reason. You didn’t want to be caught on film opposing the wall. She is well aware that her opposition to the wall will one day come back to bite her. If Trump’s border security statistics were in fact wrong, she would not have hesitated before telling him so.

Always politically correct, she said: “Should unfortunately the President choose to shut down the government, then we have Trump shutdown as a Christmas present (pauses, corrects herself) a holiday present for the American people.”

She also told reporters “It will be a Congress of transparency, extending the hand of friendship to work in a bipartisan way to find common ground where we can and about following the guidance of our founders, e pluribus unum, we didn’t come here to divide, we came here to unify.”

This woman is a liar. The only difference between Pelosi and Hillary Clinton is that Hillary is a better, far more convincing liar. Pelosi stops and starts and stumbles along and nobody really believes what she’s saying, but she is a Democrat and they do protect their own. She is also one of the party’s top fundraisers.

Unfortunately, these were not her only stupid remarks of the day. Later, speaking to several House colleagues privately, she came up with a most original metaphor. “I was trying to be the mom. I can’t explain it to you. It was so wild. It goes to show you, you get into a tinkle contest with a skunk, you get tinkle all over you.” Wut?

She also said Trump’s insistence on building a border wall was a manhood issue.  “It’s like a manhood thing for him. As if manhood could ever be associated with him. This wall thing.” No, Nancy, it’s like a national security thing.

As they say, fasten your seatbelts, it’s going to be a bumpy two years.
