RedState's Water Cooler - September 17, 2018 - Open Thread: Tucker Carlson Bags His 'Creepy Porn Lawyer,' Liz Cheney Proves She's Her Father's Daughter and More

‘Creepy Porn Lawyer’ Michael Avenatti Appears on Tucker Carlson’s Show

For the first time ever, Stormy Daniel’s attorney Michael Avenatti, who is contemplating a run for the presidency in 2020, appeared on “Tucker Carlson Tonight” last week. Carlson frequently refers to Avenatti as the “Creepy Porn Lawyer.” One of the conditions Avenatti insisted on before agreeing to come on the show was that Carlson not refer to him by that name. And Carlson was true to his word, he did not refer to him as such. Throughout the segment, however, “Creepy Porn Lawyer” or simply its abbreviation, “CPL,” was displayed in the chyron.

Don’t Mess With Liz Cheney

Like her father, Liz Cheney is a no-nonsense kind of gal. After the claim that Brett Kavanaugh had referred to birth-control pills as “abortion-inducing drugs” was found to be false, Hillary Clinton sent out the following tweet.

Hillary’s tweet, of course, was greeted by her supporters with comments like “Thank you for continuing to fight for us Hillary!”

Then Liz Cheney sent out a tweet of her own.

Huzzah!

John Kerry Has Convinced Himself That His Shadow Diplomacy Is Justified

Kerry complains that Trump has the maturity of an eight-year-old and the insecurities of a teenager.

Hey John Kerry, did you ever wonder why Trump is so upset with you? Do you really think it’s okay to be practicing shadow diplomacy? What would you have done if Condoleezza Rice conducted meetings with foreign leaders while you served as Secretary of State. You’re no longer in office. No one cares how you believe things should be handled. Your opinion is irrelevant and your unsolicited contact with Iran is unwanted and illegal.

The Tony Blair Institute for Global Change Reports 84,000 Deaths Caused Worldwide in 2017 From Islamic Terrorism

“The report revealed that 121 groups that share elements from a common Islamist ideology caused the deaths of 84,000 people – nearly 22,000 of them civilians – in 66 countries in 2017.”

The study found that 50% of all civilian deaths occurred in Syria.

The project, called the “Global Extremist Monitor,” drew on hundreds of English-language news sources that reported on incidents of violent extremism in 2017. There were a total of 7,841 attacks, with an average of 21 per day, in 48 countries, it said, with war-torn Syria topping the list of countries most affected by violent extremism. Overall, Muslims were the most frequent victims of deadly Islamist attacks.

Twenty-nine violent Islamist groups were actively engaged in conflict in Syria in 2017, the report said, with ISIS responsible for 44% of all reported attacks. As many as 64 of the world’s Islamist extremist groups are active outside major conflict zones in Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Syria and Yemen. Beyond the major conflicts, groups operating in Egypt, Mali, Nigeria and Pakistan make these countries among the world’s ten deadliest for violent Islamist extremism, according to the report.

Gaumard Scientific has introduced a new interactive patient simulator designed for use by medical students and other clinical staff. “Pediatric Hal,” the “world’s most advanced pediatric patient simulator, is  capable of simulating lifelike emotions through dynamic facial expressions, movement, and speech.” Hal moves, expresses emotions (and pain), talks, cries and responds as a five year old boy would be expected to. He even bleeds. A little on the creepy side, Hal will join his siblings, Guard’s lineup of other less high-tech, patient simulators – Victoria, Noelle, Susie, and Tory.

Two ‘Friends’ of Vladimir Putin Involved In Serious Auto Accidents Within Hours Last Week, Coincidence or Foul Play?

Russian news agency, TASS, reported that late Saturday, September 8, Putin friend Prime Minister of Abkhazia Gennady Gaguliya, was killed in an auto accident.

According to DFWatch, although foul play was suspected, Abkhazia’s de facto president Raul Khajimba denied those claims. “The Abkhazian delegation was returning after a state visit to Syria… I myself was in the convoy and witnessed the accident. This is an accident, not a terrorist attack,” Raul Khajimba was quoted by Russia’s Interfax as saying.

Then, early the next morning, a second Putin friend, Moldova president Igor Dodon, was seriously injured in what looked to be a horrific auto accident.
