There’s an old saw that goes, something like this: The Titanic was built by experts, the Ark, by an amateur. The military experts, the perfumed princes in the Department Defense, continue to oppose their duly elected President. They have burned through a lot of credibility and in the process, sullied the military and its reputation as one of the most trusted institutions in these United States. The amateur President Trump on the other hand, continues to be proven right at every turn, yet they still oppose him.
A short while back my good friend, colleague and fellow Infantryman, Streiff, penned a stellar article about retired Marine General and former Trump Secretary of Defense, James Mattis. In it he describes statements in Bob Woodward’s book, “Rage,” where in a conversation between then Secretary Mattis and Director of National Intelligence, Dan Coats, Mattis allegedly said, “There may come a time when we have to take collective action” to remove Trump from office.

As I’ve noted previously, I sort of expect this kind of underhanded behavior by lifetime politicians. Military professionals acting with so little integrity? Not so much. The election and subsequent presidency of Donald Trump appears to have brought a lot of hidden evil out into the bright sunlight. A very few years ago, had I read the words I’m now typing, from some other person, I would have sized him up for a tinfoil hat.
Today, I believe that imaginary author in the tinfoil hat might have been understating what has been going on for decades. As Streiff so aptly pointed out, there seems to be a deep seated belief within the establishment…even in the supposedly apolitical armed forces, that the usual norms of honesty, integrity and loyalty can be cavalierly discarded because…Trump!!
And—It’s still going on. My old friend and colleague, retired Navy Captain, Stu Cvrk notes what appears to be open and notorious defiance of the Commander In Chief’s orders regarding the elimination of the long discredited critical race theory” instruction at the U.S. Naval Academy by the superintendent, Vice Admiral Sean Buck.

Over at American Thinker, Andrea Widburg agrees with Cvrk on the likely cause of all this defiance:
It began to be clear last October that the Obama administration (with some help from Bill Clinton’s presidency) had seeded the Pentagon with leftist generals whose allegiance was to the Deep State, to cultural leftism, and to the infamous and profitable “military industrial complex” that Eisenhower warned about in 1961.

I find it compelling that history remembers and lauds Ike’s famous warning about the Military Industrial Complex, while today’s press excoriates President Trump’s comments regarding the same. The New York Times notes:
President Trump mounted a public attack unusual even for him over the Labor Day weekend, accusing his military leadership of advocating war “so that all of those wonderful companies that make the bombs and make the planes and make everything else stay happy.”

It’s bad enough that senior military officers defy the President, their Commander In Chief. What’s worse, they have been incorrect, nay downright inept in their advice to their President and Commander In Chief. General Mattis sits atop a long list of military politicians and anti-Trump officers. He has been wrong on numerous defense issues. Mattis, a retired Flag officer, a supposed expert has been soundly outclassed by President Trump, the amateur.
Due to almost 4 decades in the Green Machine, my description of Mattis is by training, somewhat circumspect. However, Dr. Sebastian Gorka pulls no punches. On the Thursday, September 10th edition of Breitbart News Daily, while being interviewed by the host, Alex Marlow, about recent developments in the Middle East, Dr. Gorka let loose on General Mad Dog/Warrior-Monk Mattis. He said rather than being a snake eating bad guy Mattis was a complete coward
Regarding the decision to move the United States Embassy to Israel’s from Tel Aviv to it’s statutorily required location in Jerusalem, Gorka relayed Mattis’ comments during a discussion with the President: Mad Dog said no…don’t do it Mr President. I don’t have enough Marines to protect all our embassies. And later: You will trigger World War Three.**
As I noted yesterday, Armageddon did not occur in the Middle East when President Trump obeyed U.S. law and saw to it that the U.S Embassy was moved to Jerusalem. Quite the opposite. Everything diplomatic and military is breaking the President’s way. This latest Arab-Israeli peace accord is just one example.
The only thing that will stop peace from breaking out all over Southwest Asia, would be the election of Kamala Harris this November. The “Palestinians” and the Persians are both leaning on that very slender hope. My prediction? As soon as President Donald J. Trump is re-elected, they will be back, hat in hand.
The President might be an amateur, but he certainly seems to be a gifted one. He’s absolutely running rings around the establishment experts. As the attacks on his Presidency by allegedly apolitical civil servants and military officers continue, I’m seeing more and more, just how important President Trump’s campaign promise to drain the swamp was. After how things shake out in November…the day after the election, President Trump has another opportunity to do what he should have done Inauguration Day—wholesale fire a bunch of folks that have more than demonstrated they need firing.
