It would appear that like minds meander along similar paths. Yesterday’s Politico reported:

Florida man says people who contributed more than $20 million online to help build a wall along the southern U.S. border can get refunds or shift their support to a new nonprofit effort.

Air Force veteran and triple amputee Brian Kolfage, 37, says on the GoFundMe page he started in December to raise money for President Donald Trump’s wall that the nonprofit endeavor will be more successful. The message tells donors they can get a refund if they do nothing or they can redirect their donation to the nonprofit.

This is a significant change from the meme that has been propagated by the mainstream media, that all of the donations would be refunded and that Kolfage’s GoFundMe gambit had failed.

Politico quotes Kolfage, “There is a lot of work ahead of us, but this has never deterred me in the past. With the help of our highly experienced team, and your support, we will make this work!”

As reported by Politico,

[U]nder his plan, segments of the wall would be privately constructed through negotiations with landowners along the border. Kolfage says his group is identifying areas that are frequently crossed; looking into wall solutions based on terrain, environment and other issues; and asking landowners if they would provide free or low-cost easements for its construction.

Maybe Kolfage borrowed my idea from a couple days ago, here. More likely, Kolfage has been was way ahead of me and many others and just kept his Plan “B,” close to the vest. In any case, this could be a winner.

My only caution for this outstanding young Airman is to get good legal help—and as soon as possible. I would go so far as to suggest that he contact Landmark Legal, or some other Law Firm engaged in protecting American values for folk who cannot afford the leagal fees. We all know, just as he secures a viable easement from the first border land owner and begins construction, the leftists in the 9th Circuit’s Jurisdiction will immediately judge shop for an injunction. The last thing we need is for this to fail because of court costs.

Finally, here is the part that has the leftists torn completely out of the frame—from the article:

“We are better equipped than our own government to use the donated funds to build an actual wall on the southern border,” he wrote. “Our team strongly believes that we can complete our segments of the wall for less than half of the government’s estimated costs on a per mile basis.”

The left cannot afford to let this one succeed. The last thing they want America to find out is that perhaps the Federal Government isn’t always to first choice to fix problems. They are already getting a taste of this with the partial government shutdown…that is affecting almost no one. The icing on the cake of course, is that Politico, a leftist rag, is making our case for us—and they don’t even realize it.  See the entire article here.
