According to ABC Los Angeles, homicides hit their highest level in the city in 15 years in the first half of 2022, with 181 people victims as of mid-July.
Crime is considered a hot-button political issue currently, as it continues to heavily impact urban areas. In major cities, some have attributed this to the policies for district attroneys like George Gascon of Los Angeles, or former San Fransico District Attorney Chesa Boudin.
As RedState reported Tuesday, Gascon has recently recieved backlash for working to scrap the death sentences of some convicted criminals.
