Apparently worried by Donald Trump closing in on Hillary Clinton in the polls, President Barack Obama tried to make the Election all about him during his final keynote address to the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation. My name may not be on the ballot, but our progress is on the ballot. Tolerance is on the ballot.  Democracy is on the ballot.  Justice is on the ballot.  Good schools are on the ballot.  Ending mass incarceration — that’s on the ballot right now!  . . . Hope is on the ballot.  And fear is on the ballot, too.

Obama has done this before. During the 2014 midterm election he made a monstrous mistake and nationalized the midterm election telling his audience at Northwestern University his policies were on the ballot:

Now, I am not on the ballot this fall.  Michelle is pretty happy about that. But make no mistake: These policies are on the ballot — every single one of them.

You can watch a video clip of Obama’s mistake here.

It didn’t work last time. I wonder what makes Obama think it will work this time.
