Mitt Romney today announced Wisconsin Representative Paul Ryan as his Vice Presidential running mate.

As promised the choice was first announced via Romney VP app:

Shortly thereafter the Romney campaign issued a press release for those who aren’t yet that electronically connected.

As Erick posted, a formal announcement will be made at approximately 8:45 a.m. this morning in Norfolk, Virginia at the USS Wisconsin, a decommissioned World War II-era battleship.
