The feminist movement has always pushed the same message that I thought was summed up by Helen Reddy's 1971 song "I Am Woman."
"I am strong. I am invincible. I am woman."
That was the running theme. The idea was that women were just as capable, if not more so, than men. They belonged in positions of power, in both government and corporate America. We were told constantly that if women were in charge, there'd be peace around the world and everything would run so much more smoothly. Even corporate America leaned into it. Commercials often balance "soft and gentle" with "powerful and capable."
Modern slang often involves phrases like "boss babe" and "slay queen." The Democrat Party even leans heavily into feminist propaganda. If a woman is running for any office, the strength and wisdom of women are often highlighted, and if the race is presidential, the running theme is something like "It's time" for a woman to be in charge.
It was a pretty steady message up until the woke mind virus crept in. Suddenly, women were both all-powerful and more capable than men, but they were also victims of everything, including their own bodies. Also, the definition of woman became really muddy, but feminists seemed absent on that one.
This narrative got thrown into overdrive during the Lindsay Clancy trial. The woman pleaded not guilty to strangling her three young children, and the feminists suddenly started coming out of the woodwork to sympathize with her. All over the internet, gatherings and events started popping up for women to attend to show their support for Clancy, and even more sickening, women began posting themselves online with the phrase "Same, Lindsay" as they held their babies to their chests while crying. As I wrote last week, the whole thing is embarrassing when you consider they had to pre-plan it, set up their camera, activate video mode, press record, and then turn on the waterworks.
Sometimes they don't even get the tears flowing. It would mess up the makeup. They just need to look like they're crying.

Obviously, this is all attention-seeking behavior, but it's some of the grossest kind.

I don't want to accuse some of these women of being demon-possessed, but they're not making it easy to dismiss — especially the one smiling like the Joker from Batman, but I digress.
The thing is, this is an entirely different kind of mentality than the one the feminists have been pushing on society. Women, the feminists said, were powerful, capable, and better in every way. The superior sex!
Yet, this heavy lean into victimhood tells us an entirely different story. Now, according to these same feminists, women are easily overstimulated, subject to major hormonal swings that they cannot control. These swings can make them simply moody and snappy, but apparently, they can also make them unforgivably violent toward their own children, no less.
The feminists are now telling us that women's bodies can make them behave unpredictably, and society needs to do what it can to help women when they become like this, because they're not capable of doing it on their own. The "Same, Lindsay" crowd sends the signal that they're easily overwhelmed and get into their own heads about everything, causing them to always be on the verge of a mental breakdown or having one.
If you ask me, this new message from feminism doesn't paint women in a very friendly light. This new narrative makes them seem untrustworthy, incapable, and fragile both mentally and physically. A complete 180-degree turnaround from the messaging we've been getting for decades.
Feminism loves to pretend it speaks for all women, but I'm absolutely glad most women actually reject modern feminism. The ones online are incredibly loud and attract quite a bit of attention. Sadly, ignoring it is not an option. They're loud enough to rope in the young and ignorant. Many of the young on TikTok who get shoved into the anti-male, feminist side of TikTok are consistently drenched in victimhood, never knowing just how durable, strong, and capable women actually are because victimhood has become the Left's chief trade good.
There needs to be some sort of reckoning within the feminist movement, though, and they need to pick a lane. They can either be strong and capable, or weak and easily subjugated. They can't be both.
