Back in February, I wrote an article about "industry plants." These are people who suddenly become famous out of nowhere, appear everywhere, get featured in every magazine, get endless media coverage, and, more often than not, you can't understand why. They very often lack any real talent, and if they disappeared off the screens and the zines for a couple of weeks, you likely forget they existed at all.
Others do actually take root and become legends, though often, they wind up becoming more infamous than famous.
In the article, I gave a few examples. Bad Bunny, Pedro Pascal, Ice Spice, and probably the most famous industry plant of all time, Barack Obama, but I'd like to tell you about another.

It's a guy who suddenly popped up in the news media one day, and hasn't disappeared since. With the Democratic Socialists of America's (DSA) continued victories in deep blue areas, the legacy media has only knelt at his altar more often, and now even Democrats are trying to appear cool with him.
His name is Hasan Piker, a Twitch streamer who is infamous for his hatred of all things Western culture and his love of anything that opposes it, especially Islamic terrorist groups.
I've been sounding the alarm on this guy for a very long time, not just because he loved to say horrible things about America and its people, but because he had a rabid following that was willing to destroy anyone who would dare insult their dear leader. What's worse is that, at the height of Twitch, he was actually very influential. He wasn't just one of their top streamers; he rubbed elbows with other top streamers who weren't political, making him seem a lot more legitimate than he had any right to be.
However, over time, it was pretty clear that Piker was a psychopath. His most avid followers became his own prison, and he's reportedly so terrified of them that he has no choice but to depict himself as a radical leftist above radical leftists. While his followers kept him in line, it was pretty clear everyone else was starting to see him for what he was: another champagne socialist who didn't practice what he preached.

Piker was quickly becoming a joke, and his numbers backed it up. He was once ranked at No. 5 by Complex in 2024. In 2026, he had fallen significantly to 22nd place. Funny enough, you can rate whether he's underrated or overrated on the website, and 62 percent of voters called him "overrated."
His falling popularity was given a shot of adrenaline, however, thanks to the left's need for a relevant voice. They'd lost so many that they relied on to boost their ideological infection, including huge names like Joe Rogan. Sifting through the names that younger people still listened to, they were forced to settle on Piker, a man who openly hates America and you.
Thus, The New York Times started featuring him center stage, webzines couldn't shut up about him, and soon, Piker looked like he was the toast of the town.
He wasn't. He's what was left over after the real stars of the show abandoned the incompetence and corruption that was leftist politics.
Yet, the Democrats seem to believe that he's the path to reawakening the left.

That said, earlier this week, ahead of the primary, and as the Democrat crash-out was already underway, Dingell revealed in an interview with anchor Greta Van Susteren on Newsmax that she was attempting to learn and understand more about the popularity of El-Sayed's more prominent and controversial backers, most notably America-hater Hasan Piker.
She stated she doesn't agree with many of his statements, but because he's an "influencer who has a great deal of followers" (and because El-Sayed had supposedly run a solid social media campaign himself), she was "following [Piker] now" on social media "'cause I'm trying to understand it."
A flustered Dingell then trailed off in bizarro world, speculating that one of the reasons he's allegedly so popular is that he "works out" and that when he does, "he looks really good," though she quickly added, "so some people are telling me."
What's hilarious about this is that Democrats are being fooled by their own side's plant. They truly think he's magic thanks to a handful of DSA wins in deep blue areas where Piker either showed up to help or was a part of the campaign.
The truth is that Piker isn't popular at all. Just before the legacy media rescued him, he was almost relegated to the state of "internet lolcow," or someone the internet goes to when they want to laugh at someone. His beef with Asmongold, a streamer who is wildly popular, is one of the few things that actually kept him relevant.
I sincerely hope that the Democrats go all in on Piker, because there's no way it doesn't blow up in their face and expose them as the America haters they actually are. They've always been somewhat good at dressing up their hate as something caring and inclusive, but Piker has never been shy about his wish to see more death, rape, and destruction of Westerners.
If that's who they want to hitch their wagon to, then by all means, but they're playing themselves. They're buying their own artificial hype and truly think Piker is something special. He's just an industry plant that they forgot they planted.
