Democrats Are Trying to Do Everything to Gain Popularity but Letting Go of Their Radicalism

You've probably noticed an uptick in the "creativeness" of Democrat social media posts lately.

The one that grabbed the most attention had numerous Democrat officials reading from the same script and even doing a lot of the same movements as each other. The videos were so similar that they could be synced up together.

Then, there was the "choose your character" meme posted by New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and other female Democrats that was so cringe-inducing that it actually caused Scott Jennings to feel bad enough to give the Democrat Party very good advice. As I reported on Friday, Jennings told Washington Dem Marylin Strickland to "fix the policy and leave the gimmicks behind."

The Democrats really should be listening to Jennings here, but they probably won't. At least not for a few more weeks, if not months. At this time, the Democrats seem stuck. They can't get out of their own way, and they seem to know it, but they refuse to change their positions in a way that would benefit them.

Instead, they are constantly trying to find new ways to grab your attention online, and make you like them through pure personality. They're attempting to become influencers. For instance, here's Jasmine Crockett before Trump's joint speech to Congress, attempting to appeal to Gen-Z by lip-sinking to Kendrick Lamar.

If you're scratching your head or cringing at all of this, don't worry, you're not alone. Everyone seems to be off-put by this, whether it's gen-pop America, Gen-Z, and even many in the black community.

There's a two-fold problem with this approach.

Firstly, these posts are just bad. I don't know who is attempting to push the idea that these people should be turning their social media platforms into stage shows, but they need to be fired. My guess is David Hogg had some hand in this, given he's vice-chair of the DNC now, and this seems like something he and his Gen-Z cohorts would suggest.

The posts are beyond cringe-inducing, and even sometimes feature memes that are past their shelf life. The hyper-coordination of the first attempt at creating a cohesive message between the Democrats made them look like a hive mind with no original thought between them. The rest of them are just from people who look stupid doing it, given their position in the government.

But all of this is just a thin coat of paint to cover up the real issue with the Democrats right now, and it's exactly as Jennings suggested. Their policies suck, their positions are unpopular, and their agenda is contradictory to the will of the people. Their decision-making process boils down to "Do the opposite of what Trump wants to do," and it's forced them to be on the unpopular side of so many issues.

The Democrats have radicalized themselves into a corner, and they refuse to leave it. Whether it's out of spite for Trump or a real belief in their positions, their unwillingness to change has made them off-putting as a party. So, their solution has been to try to appeal to people through pure personality, but now they're discovering they don't have the charisma they thought they did.

They're willing to embarrass themselves instead of taking sides with the American people. It's almost fascinating to watch unfold.

This can't last forever. Eventually, Democrats are going to have to start ditching some of their more radical positions or risk losing even more ground, making Republicans all the more powerful. Some have already figured that out, like California Governor Gavin Newsom. While he hasn't necessarily ditched his radicalism, he has begun making attempts to do his own attempt to be an online influencer by interviewing people like Charlie Kirk, and conceding that men in women's sports can be unfair.

Newsom is one of the worst Democrats in the land, but at least he's learning to do something other Democrats refuse to, which is appearing down to Earth and a bit more moderate than he actually is.

The midterms are going to come faster than many people think, and if Democrats want to start looking like viable candidates, they'd stop this nonsense and start moving toward the center, but they seem to be unwilling to do so.

If that's the case, then perhaps we'll end up enjoying a much easier second half of Trump's second term.
