The Fatal Error in the Democrat Party's Thinking Was on Full Display Last Night

My writing about the Democrats over the last few months has a theme that pops to the surface more often than not. Watching them is interesting, because their behavior, as well as their mentality, is honestly as interesting as it is disgusting.

Many people have aptly made the observation that Democrats aren't living in reality. They're half-correct. Democrats are living in reality, they're just living in one they haven't quite accepted, or know, has passed.

Last night, during President Donald Trump's joint address, the Democrats displayed behavior that was beyond reprehensible. Walkouts, heckling, outward displays of disrespect, including to those who didn't deserve any of the Democrat's ire as they were victims of Democrat policies.

This probably would have looked brave... if it was during Trump's first term. Democrat dramatics landed a lot differently back then, and a lot of that is because Trump's presidency had a few things going against it. His first election was contentious and left a lot of bad blood in the veins of many on the left and even some on the right. Twitter was still Twitter, and the internet was still exclusively gate-kept by the left.

Claims that Trump was sexist, racist, cruel, and uncaring were easy to turn into full-blown narratives.

But now the people are much wiser than they were. They endured the Democrats mismanagement and cruelty, and it caused Trump's popularity to surge. When he was elected, the election was no longer contentious. The vast majority wanted him back. Moreover, they had a mandate for him, and he's accomplishing it. Despite what the legacy media may say, the truth is that the people love Trump for this.

So when the Democrats acted like petulant children during Trump's speech, it really didn't go the way they thought it would. They were greeted with equal parts mockery and disdain.

As Bonchie reported on Wednesday, CNN's Scott Jennings put the outcome of the speech well regarding how Democrats looked after.

"I thought Democrats came into this speech lost and defeated by Donald Trump, and today, it looks to me like they're even more lost and more defeated than when this speech started," said Jennings.

It was Frank Lutz who actually had a take before the speech started that I think highlights where the Democrats are getting it wrong. They're not approaching Trump from any realistic angle. They still think they're "The Resistance" in a time when the majority of the people like Trump and like the job he's doing.

“These Democrats who proudly proclaim that they’re the resistance, they’re not helping their party,” he continued. “In fact, they’re helping their party fail. They’re causing the party to focus on the wrong issues, in the wrong language, in the wrong way.”

Meaning that the only people the Democrats are resisting right now are the people. We the people.

They think they're defying Trump in grand, noble displays, but what they're really doing is showing everyone they're so out of touch with the citizenry that they have no idea where they are on the timeline.

We voted for this. The majority of us did, and there's some part of the Democrat mind that can't accept that, and so they act by the playbook of Trump's first term, which is beyond outdated. What's more, I see this reiterated to Democrats on news shows over and over again, but it seems like the message somehow goes in one ear, out the other, and tickles no synapses on the journey.

They don't look noble. They look silly. They don't look righteous. They look petty.

And I hope it costs them elections for years to come.
