The more over the target you are, the more rage you produce from your enemies. Moreover, the closer you are to your enemy's weak spot, the more they start to act out. This is just as true with Democrats as it is anything else, and right now the Democrats are panicking.
On Wednesday, Nick Arama reported about Rep. Robert Garcia (D-CA) and his behavior in the DOGE subcommittee, which can easily be described as juvenile at best, and words I can't say in this article at worst.
I'll just give you a sampling:
Garcia wasn't done quite yet. He said he wanted to pull out a "d*ck pic" because the chair of the subcommittee, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) had done so in the prior Congress. Except of course, Greene's picture was related to questions about Hunter Biden and allegations about the Biden family. Garcia's picture was just an example of Garcia being immature.
The issue is that this is what the kids call "cope." The Democrats don't really have a way to stop any of this, so the only thing they can do is rage against the dying of the light. Since they can't attack Trump with any degree of success, given every attack ends up empowering him more, their only solution to try to stop what DOGE is doing is to attack Musk, the man behind it.
So they've begun fearmongering about him, saying no one elected him and that he's a threat because he could easily create conflicts of interest.
Funny that these threats pertaining to conflicts of interest weren't an issue when Democrats were in power. Only now are they concerned that there might be problems with people taking advantage of the government for their own personal gain.

The thing is, Musk isn't exactly an easy target either. Like Trump, the more he's attacked, the more popular he becomes. What's more, Musk understands the power of comedy and internet memes. The more the left freaks out, the more memes he can create. For instance, during the media's freak-out over "Big Balls," the teenager helping Musk uncover the fraud and waste, the people didn't express disgust and Musk didn't apologize. Instead, we all had a great laugh about it, and Musk renamed his X account to "Harry Bolz."
This is only outrageous to Trump's enemies. It's endearing and hilarious to everyone else.
Also... as I said before, we voted for this. Musk is doing what he told us he'd do, and we told Trump we'd vote him into office to accomplish it. This is just more promises made, promises kept.
And Musk doesn't answer to the Democrats, he answers to Trump, who in turns answers to us. Musk isn't the hunter with the gun, he's just the bloodhound. Trump is the one who pulls the trigger, and as of this writing, Trump is relatively untouchable. He's popular, Musk is popular, and the Democrats don't know how to handle it.
So you get them trying to gin up riots, you've got Garcia talking about d**k pics.
All this confrontational behavior is just a mask for fear. Like a cornered animal baring its fangs and snapping at anything that moves, Democrats know they're in dire straits. Their beloved bureaucracy is being unearthed and unraveled, and as it happens, their power fades, and as their power fades, so does their influence, and without those, their bank accounts get drier.
There's even the possibility that something criminal will be unearthed, and that, in itself, could have ramifications that go much farther than someone going to jail. Exposing crime within the government that's perpetrated by Democrats could set off an entire anti-leftist narrative that Democrats won't be able to control. The domino effect of further investigations could disrupt layers of deep state activity that they'd rather keep off the books.
They keep trying to make people terrified of Musk, but in truth, they're just trying to legitimize their own terror of him.
And if they're going through all that trouble... then Musk must be over one hell of a target.
