Lies come stock with the leftist media and Democrat politicians. That we all know and few are surprised anymore when they tell them.
But I feel like I've noticed a stark shift lately. Usually, when the Democrats and their leftist media tell lies, there's at least some attempt to justify the lie or work around it so that it has at least an element of truth. However, in just one day, I've watched the left just throw caution to the wind twice.
By now, you've likely heard of Harvard President Claudine Gay resigning from her position after it was discovered that she plagiarized various authors ten different times in her dissertation. The reason people found this out is because Gay effectively shrugged off antisemitic calls of genocide against the Jewish people on her own campus, saying no action would be taken against such obvious wrongdoing.
But that's not even the lie I'm talking about. Gay got away with that plagiarism for years before she was finally found out.
It was the lie that she was removed because conservatives weaponized plagiarism against her. The insinuation from the Associated Press was that somehow, in some way, Gay's plagiarism was pardonable and that it was wrong for conservatives to call it out, forcing her to resign as Harvard's president for breaking Harvard's rules against plagiarism.

This is pretty ridiculous logic. Gay broke Harvard's rules, yet somehow, it's conservatives' fault that Gay is losing her position.
But it doesn't stop there.
Earlier Wednesday, Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas placed the blame for our wide open borders squarely on the shoulders of Texas Governor Greg Abbott. His reasoning? According to Fox News, Mayorkas claims Greg Abbott is refusing to cooperate with government officials:
Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas called out Texas Gov. Greg Abbott on Wednesday, labeling his migrant busing policy "a remarkable failure of governance."
Mayorkas, who faces impeachment proceedings in the House for his handling of the illegal immigration crisis, blamed Abbott, a Republican, for failing to cooperate with officials in Democrat-led cities that have been overwhelmed by migrant arrivals.
"Let me identify one fundamental problem here, and that is the fact that we have one governor in the state of Texas who is refusing to cooperate with other governors and other local officials," Mayorkas said on MSNBC's "Morning Joe."
It gets worse. According to Mayorkas, the reason the border is being illegally crossed by an endless wave of illegal migrants is because of "climate change."As Abbot himself pointed out, this is all nonsense and the real reason for the wave of illegal migrants crossing the border rests solely on the Biden administration of which Mayorkas is a part.

Is anyone actually buying this nonsense from Mayorkas other than the idiots who choose to believe the left's many lies at this point? Abbott has been doing everything he can to stop the surge at the border, and with the Biden administration doing its absolute best to stop him through lawsuits, no less.

This is absolute nonsense, and it's not even hard to recognize it as nonsense. Even people who aren't that well informed about politics would look at these claims and stare in wonder at the temerity of these lies.
The question I have to ask is why they've suddenly gotten so lazy in their attempts to lie. Is it because they know their time is up, and 2024 will see them cast out of the White House? Is the damage done, and they did what they wanted to accomplish? Did the leftist culture drift so far to the left that they don't even care to hide who they are anymore?
