Biden's Destruction of the American Economy Continues to Sink His Popularity According to New Poll

Try as they might, the Democrats can’t seem to staunch the blood loss, especially when the Biden administration continues to do its best to keep the wound open. Even with all the king’s horses and all the king’s men trying to make abortion the primary issue of 2022, the plunging economy continues to be the main thing on the minds of Americans, and they know exactly who to blame for it.

According to a new Monmouth University poll released Thursday, President Joe Biden’s popularity dropped again by a single point to 38 percent, but his disapproval rating shot up three points to 57 percent. Moreover, only 18 percent of Americans think that the country is on the right track. To give you an idea as to how far this has dropped, back in January of 2021, 42 percent of Americans said the country was going in the right direction.

This is a trend that hasn’t shown any sign of stopping. Moreover, the month isn’t even done yet.

One thing does seem to speak in favor of the Democrat Party and it’s the fact that abortion has rocketed up to be an issue of importance for voters to 25 percent, sitting one point beneath the economy, currently the most important issue for voters at 26 percent.

While this may sound worrying, there’s a lot more nuance to these numbers than is presented here.

As RedState previously reported, according to an RNC poll released on Wednesday, 1 in 5 voters indeed believe that abortion is the main factor when it comes to deciding on a candidate, however, only 16 percent are willing to be as extreme on the allowances of it, which include no restrictions on abortion up till birth.

Eighty-five percent of voters want abortion restrictions, even if they don’t want it fully illegalized. This spells bad news for Democrats who are now on record as pushing for unrestricted abortions as of the Senate vote on Wednesday, with the exception of West Virginia Senator Joe Manchin. As this news gets out, those numbers are likely to change.

It’s pretty clear that Democrats are in trouble as midterms approach ever closer. Their total lean into abortion is a gambit that isn’t fully paying off, and in many cases, is dragging them down even further. Moreover, it’s not something that every American is going to be affected by while the economy absolutely is.

Biden and the Democrats have presented no real solutions to fix the economy and instead have been attempting to place the blame on others be it, Republicans or Putin. While it may have some effect on Biden’s loyal base, it’s not exactly being bought as well as Democrats would hope, which continues to be a theme for them.
