Sen. Kennedy Cuts to the Quick About Biden's Handling of Putin and His Ukraine Invasion

No one can tell it like it is quite like Louisiana Sen. John Kennedy, and the quippiest of the Republican politicians had some very cutting remarks about President Joe Biden’s handling of the Ukraine invasion.

Wednesday, the good Senator appeared on “Hannity” to comment on the address Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky made to the U.S. Congress. Once given the floor, Kennedy probably hit Biden right where it would hurt him the most; his world title.

“First, I think it’s clear that the leader of the free world is President Zelensky,” said Kennedy.

He added that he and the Ukrainian people are “tough as a boot” and that America needs to have their backs during this engagement with Russia. Kennedy did compliment the western nations for their sanctions against Putin, which did do him damage. This is something Kennedy said Biden did do right, but then the Senator got down to brass tacks.

“The rest of President Biden’s economic response to the invasion, and military response to the invasion, in my judgment, has been a wimp fest,” Kennedy said.

“Let’s take it first militarily,” he continued. “President Zelensky and the Ukrainian people are holding their own on the ground. They need air cover. Today President Zelensky said, ‘Can you please help me get planes, can you please help me get surface-to-air missiles? I’m not asking for American planes or pilots or troops. Help me with your allies.”

“President Biden’s response is the same as it always is,” Kennedy said. “I’ll get back to you in three to five business days, and he never gets back.”

Kennedy also compared Putin to a person still living with their parents and noted that in order to truly punish him they have to stop feeding him money, and this means stopping the purchase of his oil and gas, something many of our European allies are refusing to do. Kennedy has the solution, and it’s the same solution that would solve a lot of our problems here in the states as well.

“A lot of his allies say we have to buy his oil and gas,” said Kennedy. “Where are we going to get it? Well, the obvious answer is the United States, except for one problem. The woker darlings and the Democratic Party will not allow President Biden to adopt an all-of-the-above energy policy which includes oil and gas, and the president just doesn’t seem to have the courage to stand up to him.”

Kennedy is correct. Instead of lifting regulations and allowing drilling to resume here in the states unfettered, the Biden administration is, instead, purchasing energy from our enemies. As RedState covered on Thursday, Biden is currently making a deal with Iran that is even worse than the first Iran deal former President Donald Trump got us out of. This deal, in particular, would effectively hand half a billion dollars to Russia, with billions more to come to them later, plus the lifting of nuclear sanctions on Iran.

Biden is actively endangering the west by making deals that would lead to the enrichment and empowerment of the very people we’re struggling against. Kennedy is right. This is wimpy, but it’s also incredibly dangerous.
