Democrats Didn't Misjudge the Nation's Mood; They Completely Ignored It

Right now, there are a lot of Democrats scratching their heads over the loss of Virginia and wondering how this could have happened. This was Terry McAuliffe, a Clinton mainstay. McAullife and Democrat were a hand-in-hand kind of deal and Virginia is a blue state.

What’s more, they did everything they were supposed to do in order to get people to not vote for Glenn Youngkin. They said he was a racist. They told everyone he was a Trump clone. They reached into their bag o’ tricks and threw every buzzword and hot button issue at him they could get their hands on…yet it wasn’t enough.

CNN came to the conclusion that the reason this happened was that Democrats had “misjudged the nation’s mood”:

Demoralized Democrats need a reckoning after a rough election night that sent serious warning signs that they have misjudged the nation’s mood as their window closes before next year’s midterms.

While the party feuds over its vast social spending agenda, Republicans are highlighting issues that preoccupy voters more immediately, like a sluggish economy, high gas prices, expensive groceries, crime rates and concerns about the rights of parents to influence what is taught in schools. Those concerns in many cases have been exacerbated by a prolonged pandemic, which President Joe Biden declared all but over in July but that spiked over the summer in a new blow to an exhausted nation’s morale.

“Misjudge” is a brave word to use, especially after acknowledging how many issues President Joe Biden and the Democrats have failed America on, and there were more than that.

The funny part is, America has been telling Democrats they’re not happy with their recent decision-making quite often through polls, “Let’s go, Brandon” chants, and angry parents showing up at high schools. All the clues, suggestions, and in-your-face explanations on what the Democrats were doing wrong were there.

The Democrats didn’t “misjudge.” They flat-out ignored.

McAuliffe, like a good party-line Democrat, followed the leftist playbook to the T. The party had been pushing CRT and hyper-sexual books containing homosexual acts and pedophilia in school libraries in an attempt to make children into good little Democrat voters. The party’s position was that any resistance to this was racism or homophobia…until it turned out that parents of all races and creeds didn’t like this.

Still, it’s difficult to stop a train once it’s moving at high speeds and McAuliffe let slip that he didn’t think parents should have a say in their children’s education. He said so himself. He also called parents “racist” and claimed CRT was made up despite the fact that Democrats had been pushing it both overtly and subtly for years.

The unhappy parents showing up to school board meetings as well as the cover-up of the rape of a young girl at the hands of a transgender boy was proof to many voters that Democrats did not care about them, just their narrative and agenda. They chose to ignore the parents and their outrage and continue pushing something nobody wanted.

Even as I write this, Democrats are trying to rationalize how Youngkin’s campaign was able to pull the wool over the eyes of voters and fool them into voting for him with lies and deceit. They’re even still claiming that Youngkin won because America loves white supremacy despite the fact that the Lt. Gov. they just voted in is a black woman.

It’s stories like these Democrats tell themselves to rationalize why people aren’t siding with them.

But what lies and deceit were there? The economy is terrible, inflation is skyrocketing, the border crisis is out of control, and Democrats have proven that they really do want to take control of your children’s upbringing. It’s all there laid out in front of us.

If Democrats don’t see that then one has to wonder if it’s the nation’s mood they’re misjudging. Perhaps what they’re really misjudging is their own take on reality.
