Texas Gov. Greg Abbott Slams Biden and Vows to Protect Livelihoods of Border Patrol Agents

If President Joe Biden wants to toss it and leave it, then Texas Gov. Greg Abbott will pull up quick to retrieve it.

On Sunday, Abbott vowed that Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas and Biden decide to fire the border patrol agents doing their jobs, even as the administration refuses to do anything about the border, then he will step in and hire the agents to work for him.

According to Fox News, Abbott said Mayorkas and Biden “are in dereliction of duty” and that they’re not even pretending to care about the border anymore. The only action they seem to want to take is against the administration’s own border security just doing their job.

“The Biden administration has abandoned any pretense of securing the sovereignty of either Texas or the United States by having these open border policies,” said Abbott. “The people in south Texas, they are angry about the Biden administration for ignoring, for abandoning them. The Biden administration cares far more for the people who are not in this country than he does for the people, American citizens who live in this country.”

Abbott turned to the border patrol agents that Biden says would “pay” for their actions in the field, and said that if any of them lose their jobs then they have a job with the state of Texas.

“What the president said going after the border patrol who were risking their lives, working so hard to try to secure the border. If he takes any action against them whatsoever — I have worked side by side with those border patrol agents — I want them to know something,” Abbott said. “If they are at risk of losing their job at a president who is abandoning his duty to secure the border, you have a job in the state of Texas.”

The incident Abbott is referring to is the images captured of border patrol agents on horses attempting to stop Haitian migrants from illegally entering the country. Democrats and leftists online accused the agents of whipping them, however, it turned out that this narrative was either a misunderstanding and/or a complete lie. The “whips” they accused agents of using against Haitians were simply the reins of the horse, and they weren’t being used as weapons, rather photos made it seem like they were. The photographers who took the photos said themselves that they did not witness agents using them as such as well.

Regardless of this information coming out quite quickly, the Biden administration vowed to take action against the border patrol agents, a move Abbott will counter if Biden decides to take action.

“I will hire you to help Texas secure the border,” Abbott promised the agents.

Even if they aren’t fired, given the current administration’s hostility toward border patrol personnel, a strong consideration of who they want to work for should be given regardless.
