Rand Paul Takes Media to the Woodshed for Purposefully Avoiding Asking Fauci About Wuhan Lab Funding

Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul has been one of the main politicians calling Dr. Tony Fauci out for obvious lies and unanswered questions. His recent dust-up with the doctor occurred on Tuesday when Paul cornered Fauci about how the NIH, led by Fauci, was giving funds to the Wuhan Institute of Virology, specifically the lab that had been researching weaponizing viruses.

Fauci, as he usually does, did not directly answer the question and instead simply told Paul that he was wrong. However, further research by RedState’s Scott Hounsell indicates that every defense Fauci brought against Paul is filled with holes and falsehoods. The entirety of Hounsell’s article is worth the read as it contradicts Fauci directly, answers questions that you might have, and opens the door for many more.

It’s these questions that, however, that the media seems to have no interest in asking Fauci, and Paul is calling them out on it.

Appearing on Fox News, Paul called the media out for effectively not doing its job on such an important topic as this.

“If he [Fauci] was being interviewed by a journalist they would have asked, ‘Did the NIH, did your specific division of the NIH, give money to the Wuhan lab?” Paul said on “Fox & Friends.”That’s incontrovertibly true. What he’s arguing is he’s parsing his words.”

“He knows his group gave money but he’s saying ‘oh, it wasn’t for juicing up these super viruses, we gave it for other research,'” said Paul. “It’s sort of like the Planned Parenthood argument, ‘Yes, we give taxpayer money to Planned Parenthood, but it’s not for abortion.’”

“Dr. Fauci is arguing, ‘Yeah, the NIH and my group specifically gave it to the Wuhan lab, but they weren’t supposed to be juicing up viruses,’” he said.

Paul outlined that Dr. Shi Zhengli, the Wuhan virologist nicknamed “batwoman” for her research on coronavirus credited Fauci by name for funding her efforts.

“We have this in black and white from a peer-review journal, she said the funding came from Dr. Fauci’s NIAID, this is Dr. Fauci’s baby for 40 years, she lists him in the credits, he can’t escape this,” Paul added. “He did the funding.”

Paul, like everyone else, sees Fauci appearing on left-leaning networks and literally laughing about having to deal with Paul and his questions, but Paul is calling them out for not asking him to answer for these very obvious and troublesome findings.

“Dr. Fauci goes on these other channels and they laugh it up and yuck it up,” but the hosts “never ask him, ‘Did you fund the institute?’” said Paul.

Again, we’re confronted with a media that is attempting to help cover up a very glaring problem about the Coronavirus, and in this case, it’s an issue that concerns the very man the nation has looked to as the foremost authority on COVID-19.

For over a year, people have died, lost their jobs, businesses, and lived under draconian lockdown measures under the direction of this very same man, and yet the fact that Fauci has connections to the very lab that may have birthed the virus that caused this much devastation is of no concern to leftist media outlets. No Democrat seems concerned about Fauci’s connections to the virus itself. Only Republicans seem to be willing to ask the tough questions.

Even then, when Paul asks about them, he’s eviscerated in the media, even on social media. Americans everywhere should be demanding answers about this discovery, yet the left is literally laughing about it.
