Disney Sends the Message That Threatening Cops Will Result In Rewards

It wasn’t that long ago that Disney fired actress Gina Carano for the high crime of warning everyone away from hating each other for our political views or targeting specific beliefs because it leads down horrific roads we’ve seen before. Disney’s reaction to this was to call her words “abhorrent and unacceptable.”

Apparently, Disney has a huge problem with unity, but if you threaten a police officer then they’ll be more than happy to give you a show to produce.

Just last month, NBA player LeBron James sent out a tweet targeting a police officer that was forced to shoot 15-year-old Ma’Khia Bryant in order to stop her from stabbing another person. James, in all caps, tweeted “YOU’RE NEXT” with the police officer’s picture, indicating that he would suffer the same fate as Derek Chauvin, the officer found guilty for George Floyd’s death.

James later deleted the tweet, but the internet is forever.

James claims that the reason he took the tweet down was that it was being used to create more hate, and not because targeting the officer was wrong. He even claimed those who went after him about his tweet were doing it for racist reasons.

Now, the same Disney corporation that fired Carano over her call for unity and warning against blindly considering others monsters has announced a new show produced by LeBron James called Turning the Tables with Robin Roberts.

Roberts, of Good Morning America, will host a four-part series where she interviews three female celebrities including Debbie Allen, Sofia Carson, Jamie Lee Curtis, Jenna Dewan, Sheila E., Melissa Etheridge, Mickey Guyton, Betsey Johnson, Billie Jean King, Tig Notaro, Raven-Symoné and Josie Totah according to Disney.

Disney described the show in a press release:

Disney+ announced today that “Good Morning America” and ABC News co-anchor Robin Roberts will host and executive produce “Turning the Tables With Robin Roberts,” a four-episode series featuring intimate round table conversations with female celebrities from all walks of life. LeBron James will serve as an executive producer on the series with his media conglomerate, The SpringHill Company. In addition to Roberts and James, the assembled team of executive producers is comprised of women, BIPOC and members of the LGBTQ+ community.

Disney is making it clear that there will only be one kind of political narrative that’s allowed on their networks, and it’s the kind that fuels division, victimhood, and the targeting of innocents. To punish Carano and not James is an unmistakable signal of what kind of speech they approve of and what they don’t. They’re saying that they will push narratives known to divide and isolate and reject those that bring people together.

This isn’t Disney’s lowest moment, but it’s close.
