Democrat Controlled Cities Make a Show of Preparing for Retaliation From Iran

As the fallout from America’s slaying of Iranian Gen. Qasem Soleimani continues to unfold, so do the political dramatics by those who would find any opportunity, no matter how celebratory, to make it seem like what has happened will have deeply horrific implications.

Take, for instance, the fact that some cities have begun outwardly preparing for retaliation from Iran despite there being no credible threat.

New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio is wasting little time himself in tweeting out the fact that he’s spoken with officials in order to protect key locations around the city in an effort to prepare for retaliation.

“Have spoken with Commissioner Shea + Dep Commissioner Miller about immediate steps NYPD will take to protect key NYC locations from any attempt by Iran or its terrorist allies to retaliate against America,” said De Blasio. “We will have to be vigilant against this threat for a long time to come.”

This would seem like a prudent thing to do if earlier, the mayor hadn’t made a show on Twitter of pointing out that Trump had effectively started a war with Iran, making him “worried” for his city and our nation.

“Worried for our city [and] our nation. Without the approval of Congress, the US Government effectively declared war on Iran tonight. The American people had no say in the matter, despite voting time [and] again to stop endless wars [and] bring our troops home. This one will not end soon,” he tweeted.

On the other coast, the Los Angeles Police Department also took to Twitter to make a show of keeping an eye out for retaliatory threats, though they do admit they haven’t run across anything credible.

“While there is no credible threat to Los Angeles, the LAPD is monitoring the events developing in Iran. We will continue to communicate with state, local, federal and international law enforcement partners regarding any significant intel that may develop,” tweeted Los Angeles PD.

“This Department is committed to ensuring the safety of our vibrant and diverse community, and we ask every Angeleno to say something if you see something,” they added in a separate tweet.

While it is prudent to make sure that terrorist cells embedded in the U.S. don’t do anything to harm Americans in retaliation, it should be understood that these posts weren’t created with the safety and well-being of the citizens of these cities in mind.

These were purely posts created to add to the dramatics surrounding the anti-Trump narrative that the media has been growing since even before Trump was elected. Rest assured, fears of war will be used to strike Trump in 2020, and if the polls indicate a shift away from Trump thanks to this move, then you can bet the Democrats will hammer it as hard as possible.

Right now, tweets like these are the seeds to what could become an entire 2020 battle plan.
