Get Democrats a Band-Aid, Because Trump Surpassed Obama's Approval Rating

That’s got to sting.

According to Nate Silver’s 538, President Donald Trump has officially passed former President Barack Obama in approval ratings.

The site keeps track of various polls from different websites and found that Trump’s approval now sits at 42.8 percent. Around this time in Obama’s presidency, the left’s most glorified leader had a 42.7 percent approval rating.

This can be considered bad news to Democrats for a few reasons.

For one, they’re right in the middle of trying to bludgeon Trump with anything they can find in order to make him unpopular enough for their own 2020 candidates to have a chance if they can’t use it to kick him out of office. His rising approval numbers only show that their efforts are failing badly and that Trump is going to be around for a very long time.

Secondly, it’s a blow to a Democrat narrative that considered Obama’s administration to be a highly thought of presidency, much more so than any Republican. That a Republican — and a Republican that they hate with every bone in their body no less — is somehow being thought to do a better job than their former chosen one isn’t going to be a good morale booster.

The truth is that it’s likely their constant attacks on Trump are driving this approval up. So far, the vast majority of the attacks have been pretty insubstantial, such as the Russian collusion, charges of racism, and more. After all of that, the Democrats are once again trying to nail Trump to the wall with this Ukraine scandal, and this time, they’re pushing forward with impeachment.

It’s likely that the American people are just tired of it and are now rallying behind Trump.

Trump seems to now share the same kind of boost received by organizations that get attacked by media and activists such as the NRA and Chick-fil-A, which for a Republican president, is the best thing one could hope for. Seeing as how the Democrats can’t help themselves but lose it if he breaths out of the wrong nostril, you can probably expect Trump’s approval to go up a bit more before the 2020 elections are done.
