Report: Multiple Death Threats Sent to Theater Managers Screening Pro-Life "Unplanned" Movie

The pro-life movie Unplanned, which tells the story of former Planned Parenthood abortion facility manager Abby Johnson’s journey from being an abortion advocate to a pro-life activist, has been running into trouble from the moment it arrived on the world stage. Between attempts by social media giants to silence it and activists trying to tarnish it, Unplanned has generated no shortage of anger from the pro-abortion left.

Now, according to LifeSite, several managers of private movie theaters have had to cancel their screenings of the pro-life film after receiving credible death threats. The reports come from B.J. McKelvie, pastor and president of Fredericton-based Cinedicom according to LifeSite, who has confirmed that police are now involved:

McKelvie confirmed to LifeSiteNews that two Canadian independent cinema owners contacted police after receiving death threats they perceived as credible, and that they are “fearful for their families.”

Another Canadian independent theatre owner “has been harrassed to the extreme.”

One of the two owners who contacted the police has cancelled the Unplanned screening, but all the rest “are holding their ground,” McKelvie said.

He did not want to identify the locations, particularly because “it’s a police matter,” he told LifeSiteNews.

The alleged death threats are aimed at independent theatre owners because “they didn’t get anywhere with Cineplex, or they didn’t get anywhere with Landmark,” McKelvie said.

“It’s just a movie. The topic is certainly a hot topic,” said McKelvie. “However, it is just a movie. I find it ironic, they talk about choice, pro-choice, pro-choice, pro-choice, but they’re not giving people a choice to go see the movie.”

The film has had a lot of underhanded things done to it in order for information about it to stay minimal. Twitter was causing accounts to automatically unfollow the movie’s official Twitter account. Several videos of people following the account, clicking off, and then click back on to see that they had been removed from the follower’s list showed up on the internet.

Other attempts to generate ire toward Unplanned involved ginning up narratives that the movie would inspire people to go out and hurt, or even kill someone due to the fact that the film gets the anti-abortion message across too well.

The irony here is that we have people threatening death upon innocent people because they’re showing a film that shows you the horrors of an organization who deals in the death of innocent children daily, and all in the name of silencing said film because it might convince people to cause death.

Astounding logic.
