HBO, the home of the mega-hit series “Game of Thrones” isn’t too happy about President Donald Trump using their show’s distinctive font as a way to spike the “no collusion” football via a meme, and publicly spoke out against it, asking Trump not to use their “intellectual property.”
On Thursday morning, Trump tweeted out an image that read “No collusion. No obstruction. For the haters and the radical left Democrats – GAME OVER.”

“Though we can understand the enthusiasm for ‘Game of Thrones’ now that the final season has arrived, we still prefer our intellectual property not be used for political purposes,” an HBO spokesman said in a statement according to Variety.
The only problem is that Game of Thrones has definitely used itself for political purposes. The most famous example is when the severed head of 43rd President George W. Bush appeared on a spike in one of the episodes. HBO apologized for the incident and the show’s producers claim that severed head wasn’t intentional or a political statement of any kind.
Trump is known for using the GoT font in memes from time to time. In November of last year, Trump used the Game of Thrones type to warn of oncoming sanctions.

HBO also spoke up then as well.
“We were not aware of this messaging and would prefer our trademark not be misappropriated for political purposes,” HBO said in a statement.
Trump’s usage of the font is probably apropos, given the amount of intrigue, dealing, and attacks from various groups.
