The same guy who is saying walls end lives is now the same guy saying that some places do indeed need a physical barrier.
Failed Senatorial candidate Democrat Robert “Beto” O’Rourke has apparently had a change of heart about the southern border wall with Mexico. Previously, O’Rourke has been going above and beyond to convince Americans that we don’t need a wall, even going so far as to say they “end lives.”
O’Rourke later greeted fans from behind the safety of a barrier.
According to CNN, however, O’Rourke has had a change of heart, and now believes it’s necessary in some locations:
O’Rourke has blasted President Donald Trump’s push for a border wall in recent weeks, and last week said he wants to see the border separating El Paso from Juárez torn down.
But asked Tuesday whether that means he wants fencing along the entire US-Mexico border removed, O’Rourke said, “I think there is a role for physical barriers in some places.”
“I think there are in some places a need for a physical barrier, and here’s what I would do: I would work with local stakeholders, the property owners, the communities, those who actually live there, to determine the best security solution. That certainly didn’t happen” when El Paso’s border wall was built a decade ago, he said. “We saw in El Paso a solution in search of a problem imposed on us by people who did not live here.”
The wall tends to trend up lately, with support for the wall spiking from 34 percent to 42 percent in January according to an ABC/WaPo poll.
Some good news for Trump on the border wall in new ABC/WaPo Poll:
Support for a border wall increased from 34% to 42%

The wall is trending up in the ever important political foothold of Iowa as well to 37 percent approval according to a Des Moines Register/Mediacom Iowa poll.
O’Rourke may have seen where the poll numbers are going and has begun changing his tune.
