On Monday morning, Sen. Kamala Harris announced her intent to run for President in 2020 with all the excitement the California Democrat can get out of people, which is to say I’ve seen more excitement in kids dragged to Home Depot by their parents.
Harris released a video on her Twitter account wherein she announced her candidacy by first throwing around a lot of buzzwords, the first of them being “truth,” “justice,” and “decency.” The video is then a jumble of platitudes while a diverse cast of families smiles for a camera, followed by an announcement for an event in Oakland.
It’s a pretty forgettable announcement video.

What’s not forgettable is the fact is that Harris’s claim that she’s running for truth, justice, and decency looks a little slimy next to the fact that just recently she was attempting to smear and collapse the life and career of a man who was very highly likely to be innocent of the charges she and her Democratic colleagues were throwing at him.
Harris was one of the Senators on the Senate Judicial Committee who were committed to the task of making sure Brett Kavanaugh never achieved a position on the Supreme Court by any means necessary. Many of which involved spreading lies about him and his character.
Harris was definitely one of the worst culprits as she released an infamous video featuring Kavanaugh speaking about birth control as if it were an abortion-inducing drug. Harris used this to make it seem like Kavanaugh would go after birth control for women, and as such, go after women’s choices in healthcare (read: abortion).
“Filling out the form would make them complicit in the provision of the abortion-inducing drugs that they were, as a religious matter, objected to,” said Kavanaugh in Harris’s video.
Kavanaugh chooses his words very carefully, and this is a dog whistle for going after birth control. He was nominated for the purpose of taking away a woman’s constitutionally protected right to make her own health care decisions. Make no mistake – this is about punishing women. pic.twitter.com/zkBjXzIvQI

Only that’s not the full context of what Kavanaugh said, nor was it a conclusion Kavanaugh himself had come to. He was simply quoting the conclusion of a specific party in a Supreme Court case, not his own personal conclusion. The full quote was “In that case, they said filling out the form would make them complicit in the provision of the abortion-inducing drugs that they were, as a religious matter, objected to.”
The media was watching the Kavanaugh hearings, Kamala was there listening to it, yet all parties concerned decided to pick up Harris’s video and spread it around in order to generate panic about Kavanaugh’s intent.
So Harris is willing to lie to you to make you panic, and will ruin the character of an innocent man if she has to in order to make you act the way she wants you to.
Contrary to Harris’s video, truth, justice, and decency apparently are just words to her.
