Rand Paul Has the Perfect Solution to the SOTU Problem...How About No Pelosi Involvement At All?

Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-Crazytown) has unleashed her pettiness and it’s currently running rampant throughout Washington. Not only is she not going to back down on refusing President Donald Trump his wall funding, but she’s also going to close the House floor to him for his SOTU address too.

Pelosi has made it clear that so long as the government sits in shutdown, the House is closed to Trump.

But Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) has the perfect solution to this, and it involves ditching Pelosi altogether, which in any situation sounds like the best idea ever to begin with.

Paul took to Twitter to point out that while Pelosi might control the House, the Senate is still controlled by adults and Majority Leader Mitch McConnell can open up the Senate for Trump to deliver his speech to the American people.

“Senator McConnell is in charge of the Senate,” noted Paul. “If Mrs. Pelosi refuses to allow the president to deliver the State of the Union in the House, I propose we move it to the Senate and make it happen!”

The White House doesn’t seem to think this is a bad idea either, according to CBS.

In response to Pelosi closing the House to Trump, Trump canceled Pelosi’s use of military planes, a taxpayer expense, as a way to go on her winter vacation.

If Trump does take up Paul on his suggestion, Trump will only be slightly inconvenienced by the smaller space within the Senate, but the SOTU will go on and Pelosi will still be flying commercial at her own expense.
