Of all the people to accuse another person of inciting violence through divisive rhetoric, Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Calif.) has no leg to stand on.

Waters recently accused President Donald Trump of fomenting violence among the right during his speech in Iowa on Tuesday, naming the point where he urged the crowd to…vote.

“You will have your chance to render your verdict on the Democrats’ outrageous conduct on November 6th,” said Trump, talking about America rendering its opinion on the Democrats’ dog and pony show around Brett Kavanaugh at the ballot box.

Waters, for some reason, took this suggestion to vote by Trump as inciting violence, according to Fox News:

Waters accused Trump of trying to portray peaceful anti-Kavanaugh protests as “mobs.”

“Well, this president is the poster boy for what a mob protester looks like,” Waters said. “He’s the one who has been violent in his speech.”

She pointed out that at a 2016 rally, Trump encouraged supporters to “knock the hell” out of protesters, and promised to pay the legal fees for anyone who did so.

“That’s the kind of talk that he has done. That’s violent talk. We don’t have that kind of talk that has come from the women who are protesting,” Waters said.

“As a matter of fact, this country is past due for the kind of protests that we have seen women do in the last few days as we have gone through this confirmation process of Kavanaugh. It is time for women to say that we’re tired of being disrespected.”

While I don’t condone any violence, no matter which side of the aisle it comes from, Waters is demonstrably wrong about her assumption. In the last couple weeks alone, we’ve seen leftists in the streets and on Twitter calling for harassment, violence, and even assassinations of certain political figures such as Sen. Susan Collins (R-Maine) and Justice Brett Kavanaugh. Many of the people calling for this violence have been women.

Never let Collins have a moment of peace in public again.

According to the Washington Examiner, Collins was receiving vicious phone calls and letters, including one man telling a staffer that he hopes she’s raped.

In the eye of the storm, Collins’ offices in Maine and Washington “field[ed] threatening, profanity-laden phone calls and letters,” Newsweek reported. “If you care at all about women’s choice, vote ‘no’ on Kavanaugh. Don’t be a dumb bitch,” wrote one correspondent.

A letter to her office in Maine read, “If you vote for Kavanaugh, every waitress who serves you is going to spit in your food, and that’s if you’re lucky. … Another caller told one of Collins’ 25-year-old female staffers that he hoped she’d be raped.”

Waters is beyond off the mark to presume the right are the violent ones, or that Trump is urging anyone to violence by encouraging them to vote. If voting is now violence, then somebody better take away Taylor Swift’s Instagram privileges.

The right isn’t stalking politicians or political activists, and harassing them while they eat. The right isn’t shooting up baseball fields filled with Republican leaders, and threatening citizens with violence if they don’t do what they’re told. The left is, though, and leaders, including Hillary Clinton and Sen. Cory Booker of New Jersey, are encouraging them to do so.

And, most hypocritically, Waters is as well. Perhaps she forgot that she urged her followers to generate mobs around Republicans wherever they see them.

Allow me to remind her.

As Rand Paul has said, this is the kind of thing that will inspire someone to hurt somebody, or worse. If anybody is inspiring people to violence, it’s Waters and her fellow Democrats.
