Donald Trump Responds to Taylor Swift's Denouncement of Tennessee Republican Marsha Blackburn

It was only a matter of time before he said something.

President Donald Trump has weighed in on singer/songwriter Taylor Swift finally opening up about her political stances, and publicly rejecting Marsha Blackburn for all the “woke” reasons you’d expect someone from the gliteratti to have. This includes the belief that you should be forced to bake the damn cake, that racism is systematic, and that the wage gap is real.

These are demonstrably bad positions to take, seeing as how two of them aren’t true, and one of them is just completely unconstitutional. Regardless, Swift made it clear in an Instagram post that because Blackburn is all about personal freedom and against nonsensical, half-baked takes on society, she must be opposed. Swift went on to say she’s backing Blackburn’s challenger, Democrat Phil Bredesen.

The news got to Trump, who responded by defending Blackburn, and shrugging off Swift.

According to CNN, Trump was asked about Swift’s positions.

“Marsha Blackburn is doing a very good job in Tennessee,” Trump responded. “She’s leading now, substantially, which she should. She’s a tremendous woman.”

Trump then turned his attention to Swift.

“I’m sure Taylor Swift has nothing — or doesn’t know anything about (Blackburn),” added Trump. “Let’s say that I like Taylor’s music about 25% less now, OK?”

Trump is correct about Blackburn’s lead, which seems to have only increased despite Swift’s endorsement of her opponent. This is likely due to the rising tide being experienced by all Republicans thanks to the momentum of the GOP’s success in confirming Justice Brett Kavanaugh.
