The figurative Hollywood bubble that envelopes many a celebrity practically swaddles Will and Grace star Debra Messing.
Messing is known for knee-jerking to tragic news by immediately blaming the right for any and all problems that occur on this planet, or taking the moment to make it about herself.
For instance, right after the Texas church shooting, Messing tweeted out a political cartoon featuring Uncle Sam using himself as a body shield for an NRA representative, while many lay dead around them. She also bragged that she canceled her NYT subscription for writing an article on Daily Wire editor in chief Ben Shapiro that wasn’t mean. Then there was that time she mourned the UCLA shooting by taking a selfie.
But Messing took her leftist elitism to new heights earlier this month when she bragged via a now deleted Instagram post about her son not standing for the National Anthem. While the post has been removed, Fox News wrote down what Messing had written for the post.
“’Please stand for the Star Spangled Banner.’
Son: ‘Mom, I want to sit down in protest. Can we do that?’
Me: ‘Yes, honey. We can do that.’
“Who’s crying?” she wrote. “I’m not crying. #BLM (Black Lives Matter)”
The post caught the eye of Lisa Smith, the mother of a wounded veteran named Michael. As you can imagine, Messing’s disrespect toward America was a personal blow to her, seeing as how her son sacrificed his body for Messing and her son.
Smith responded to Messing via twitter with a blistering message.
.@DebraMessing: You're proud your son boycotted our Anthem?
I'm proud of MY son. You know why? HE can't kneel or walk on his own. HE was wounded fighting for the very freedom that YOU spit on, yet he has NO regrets! He's a Patriot & you're a loser!https://t.co/vAesThhwp0— Lisa ❤️s America 🇺🇸⭐️⭐️⭐️ (@LisaSmith4680) January 2, 2018
Messing has yet to respond, and no one is expecting her to. She very rarely, if ever, shows any actual bravery.
