The Lie-Able Sources Podcast: A Year-End Wrap-Up With Themes and Trends in Media of 2025

Your source to mainline a year's worth of mainstream media misdeeds and malarkey.

We are about to tear off the last page of the calendar, and that means it is retrospective time. The press corps of this country has been the expected mass of dysfunction and petulance, working to oppose any and every utterance that is made by President Trump. There is no pretense to objectivity any longer; this is an industry entrenched in its activist state.

For this week I have been doling out “honors” to the press both here, and at Townhall. At that site, I have been recognizing the wealth of bad press with The Heckler Awards, and here on RedState, I have been giving out The Remmy Awards, trophies for the craziness seen in the press.

As an addendum, for this episode I tabbed what is the overriding tagline for the press in 2025. There was a definable throughline that was in place, starting from Inauguration Day, all the way to this point in the closing days of the year. Along with that, I went through a list of the industry trends we witnessed this past year, where the press contingent worked together on narratives and approaches to news.

Then, in keeping with the retrospective theme, we close with an “In Memoriam” segment, for those journalists we lost over the past 12 months. Well, to be more precise – the journalists who lost jobs this year. (Poor Abilio!)

Now, crack one open and savor some outmoded media malpractice and misinformation.
