The story of the Minnesota shooter, Vance Boelter, who committed political murders over the weekend, continues to evolve. The more that is revealed about the man, the more questions that emerge. At this stage it is still unclear where he rests on the political spectrum - not that it is significantly important since he is clearly a deranged individual.

There are indications he was a Tim Walz appointee, and that he is reportedly a registered Republican. But there is so much still swirling, and the press has only made things murkier. There was the ballyhooed interview with a perspiring Papa John’s pizza facilitator who was supposedly Boelter’s roommate, yet we also learn the suspect has a large family and a sprawling estate.

Now, we need questions answered.
How is Boelter supposedly the roommate of a sweaty Papa Johns driver, yet also has a family of 5 kids and lives on an acreage with over half a dozen vehicles.

Despite the mysteries there has been no shortage of blame tossed around, and Democrats are springing up with commentary that is rather desperate. Standing out as the most unacceptable has been the dependably dense Senator Chris Murphy (CT). He came out with an accusatory string of posts declaring MAGA to be fully responsible for the shooting. This would be what the kids on the intertubes refer to as “A banger of a thread,” meaning Murphy was banging his head against a wall, likely before he posted to Xitter.

His attempt is so laughably inept that it can only be described one way: as a desperate lie. Of course Murphy drops January 6 references, because that will forever be a narrative touchstone for his party, but this undermines his entire rant. To see him reach back five years for relevance highlights how desperately he needs to ignore leftist violence from the past few months.

The Minnesota assassin appears to be a hate-filled right winger. So can we stop walking on eggshells about MAGA's legitimization of political violence?

Yes, Republicans have also been the target of inexcusable violence, but this isn't a "both sides" issue.

For starters, recall the sympathetic approach his kind had for Luigi Mangione, who blatantly assassinated the UnitedHealthcare CEO in public. Then there was the firebomb attack on the home of Governor Josh Shapiro by an unhinged antisemitic socialist. Next we have the recent murders of two Israeli embassy workers in D.C., and more recently the Molotov cocktails hurled at a pro-Israel rally in Boulder, Colorado. 

How about that for a party that is, as Murphy tries to blame, “bathed in violence.” Oh... and speaking of Mangione, this politician who supposedly bemoans the “violence gets mainstreamed,” was also one who did NOT condemn the assassination. Instead he tried to sound introspective as he wanted to explore the emotions behind first-degree murder.

Just precious, Chris. Also in his thread was this laughable prevarication that his own party does not promote violence: “Again, Democrats don't say these things. Not ‘both sides.'" 

This man would never be able to sell a car. For him to try saying Democrats have not been calling for violence on the regular since Trump was re-inaugurated is abject delusion. His party brethren (and sistern) have been behaving like rabid badgers for months.

House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (NY) has called for “fights in the street” over budgetary issues. Likewise agitated was Rep. Kweisi Mfume (MD), with DOGE cuts inspiring him to street fight incitement. The ever-imbalanced Rep. Maxine Waters (CA) wants people to take to the streets because she is convinced there will be a civil war. Also invoking calls of war was Rep. Monica McIver (NJ) (before being indicted for storming a federal facility). Rep. Jasmine Crocket (D-TX) called to punch GOP Sen. Ted Cruz (TX) and said that “He needs to be knocked over the head!”

The guillotine has become a preferred symbol in many leftist demonstrations since the inauguration. A Facebook group called “Guillotines For A Better America” has tens of thousands of followers. Try finding any condemnation over this type of provocative imagery from Democrat leaders.

For Murphy, or anyone else from his party, to start mewling over rhetoric that they deem to be violently provocative is beyond ridiculous. They applaud such language, and the moment anyone calls them out to be held to their own verbal standards, they resort to claiming their free expression is being violated. As usual, the right needs to shut up, and the left needs to be left alone.

Progressive zealots are increasingly resorting to violence and terrorism because they failed at the ballot box.
