On Sunday, most people were outraged by the report out of Colorado of a deranged pro-Palestine illegal resident who attacked a group at an Israeli rally with Molotov cocktails, sending nine people to the hospital, including a Holocaust survivor. It became yet another instance of the rampant intolerance and antisemitism seen from the Democratic party and the left, as well as the media. These examples continue to arrive, and we see the same level of equivocation from those listed.
There is another concerning story, this one concerning an individual wanting to target a Jewish daycare center. There was the murder of two Israeli embassy workers in D.C. Meanwhile, Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro had his home firebombed. One of the new deportation martyrs, Mohsen Mahdawi, has a record of declaring his affection for murdering Jews. We do not get to this stage without some level of acceptance.
Monday night on CNN, anchor Abby Phillip hosted a panel that attempted to address the effects of the attack in Boulder, Colorado, and it was as useless and deluded a bit of a discussion as to be expected. Bill Kristol was a member of the panel, and as expected, contributed little of significance. Hostess Phillip delivered the stunted logic in suggesting that members of Congress in "The Squad "have not been antisemitic. Appropriately, guests John Sununu and Shermichael Singleton called out this provable lie.

Then the idiocy and delusion reached its nadir when Dem strategist Maria Cardona weighed in and went with the most predictable and nonsensical excuse-making – this was all due to Donald Trump! She tried to suggest that antisemitism rose under his first term, but this is pure desperation, as it does nothing to explain how his four years of absence did not quell the hatred. It also does nothing to explain the abject lack of calling out antisemitism seen from the left.
The Democrats are in a dire predicament because the rise in antisemitism is on them entirely. Note the list of incidents I gave above, and look at the muted reactions they have received from the media. The lone example where we heard anything approaching true outrage involved the attack on Shapiro’s home, and once it was learned that the attacker emanated from the left, the story was quietly tamped down in the press.
The telling aspect (Ms. Cardona’s insistence aside) is that President Trump would be loudly castigated in the press if there were any chance of laying the blame in his lap. But the Democrats and the press have trapped themselves on this matter over the years. By their own actions they have placed themselves in the position of being culpable for what is taking place in this country.
It began years ago when Islamophobia became the preferred accusation leveled against Republicans and conservatives. This was used as a political cudgel, and it meant that objective criticism of terrorist activity could not take place without receiving the claim that you were being intolerant of all Muslims. This set the trap for the Democrats, and the emergence of Trump as a political force moved them into the snare.
With Trump and conservatives willing to call out terrorist activity, it leads to strengthening ties with Israel, and by extension Jews in the U.S. So the response was to make the strained claim that Trump was fostering antisemitism during his first term in office. Cherry-picked examples had to be found to use as evidence, with most if not all withering under the light of common sense. For instance, the Pittsburgh synagogue shooting in 2018 was initially blamed on Trump, then it was learned the shooter, Robert Bowers, was inspired by his anger at Trump for working so closely with Israel.
Joe Biden's ascendance to the White House led to more problems. As the Israel-Hamas war erupted the opposition to Israel and Jews stateside blossomed, especially on college campuses, and this became the biggest problem for the left, for two reasons. The already established inability to criticize the terror group was in play, so this permitted more antisemitic language and activity to take place. Then this too could not be properly called out, because if this true antisemitism was highlighted, it would be attributed to occurring under Joe Biden’s watch.
Desperate reframing took place. Instead of intolerance and hate crimes being charged (two favored accusations of leftists), they needed to resort to suggesting that the Zionist opposition was a case of free expression and protected protests. Blocking Jewish students, harassing and attacking them, and calling for the eradication of Israel were deemed First Amendment issues. They sanctified antisemitism, and now it is producing violent activity.
Roll in the other issue on which they are on the wrong side – immigration. They need to permit the antagonists to reside here, they need to tolerate their hatred, and they need to deny the antisemitic activism and violence emerging with growing frequency.
They are moving from residing on the bad side of 80/20 issues to being in the 95/5 range, as their approval numbers continue to shrink. What we are now contending with going forward is how much more violence we're likely to see moving forward.
