Your source to mainline mainstream media misdeeds and malarky.
For this episode, we do a little bit of looking back at the past year in the press and try to predict what to expect in 2025 from the media complex. It is no easy task, as the press appears either incapable or unwilling to alter its practice of providing slanted news and misinformation. While some of what we predicted in 2024 transpired, we in no way anticipated the scope of failure that played out last year.
Looking ahead, however, things are far murkier, and much of that has to do with the media sources looking as if they themselves are unaware of what lies ahead for them and what needs to be done. Layoffs, major changes at outlets, and journalists and executives taking flight are just one sign of the issues causing dismay in the industry.
As this new year commences, there has already been a disruptive force, as Meta announced surprisingly that it is removing fact-check outlets from operating on the platform. Beyond the sources themselves being caught off guard, the recoiling outrage seen from journalists regarding the removal of sources limiting speech is a revealing contradiction. This is an industry in flux, off balance, and experiencing a level of turmoil.
Now, crack one open and savor some mainstream media malpractice and misinformation.
