Crockett Takes Her Pathological Antics to Another Level in Epstein Floor Speech

Washington continues to attract some of the worst people in America, and Democrat Rep. Jasmine Crockett (TX-30) is no exception. Her pathological tendencies range from alleged abuse of her staff to repeatedly misrepresenting her wealthy background.

So when she took to the House floor on Tuesday to give a speech in defense of Del. Stacey Plaskett (D-VI), who was recently revealed to have colluded with deceased sex-trafficker Jeffrey Epstein during a 2019 hearing, it wasn't a surprise when she pointedly lied to try to smear EPA chief Lee Zeldin and others.

Let me start with the simplest rebuttal, though the next part of this gets much worse.

While Epstein did donate to Republicans over the years (he also dumped tons of money into Democrat coffers), there was a broad movement to return all those donations once his heinous activity became public. Who was the only major politician who refused to do that? Stacey Plaskett. That makes Crockett's listing of the above names rather irrelevant and dishonest. Politicians can't control who donates to them, but they can control whether they keep the donations or not.

Here's the thing, though. It doesn't appear that any of the aforementioned people received any donations from Jeffrey Epstein, with the exception of George H.W. Bush (Crockett simply says "George Bush," another attempt to mislead). The latter would have occurred nearly four decades ago, long before anyone had any idea about Epstein's crimes. Notably, Epstein also showered Bill Clinton with money during that time, so it wasn't a partisan affair.

So what did Crockett actually do here? The tell is the use of the qualifier "somebody named," which is a convenient way to lie while being able to claim she didn't lie. In other words, she and her team simply googled donation receipts but didn't bother to confirm if the "Jeffrey Epstein" listed was the Jeffrey Epstein. To put it simply, they weren't.

While Crockett is legally allowed to defame people on the House floor because of constitutional protections, this kind of gross behavior should result in censure and removal from committees. But since Republicans couldn't even manage to get that done against Plaskett, that seems unlikely. Pathological liars get rewarded in the swamp, and Crockett won't pay any price.
