WILD: CNN Analyst Launches Into Tirade About DEI, Accuses CNN of Racial Discrimination

CNN analyst Ashley Allison lost it on Wednesday night, launching into a tirade over DEI and essentially accusing CNN of racial discrimination.

The comments happened during an exchange with Scott Jennings, who was offering support for the Trump administration's dismantling of so-called "diversity, equity, and inclusion" initiatives. Allison responded by claiming that as a "black woman in this country," she does "not have the same opportunity" as the others at the table.

ALLISON: I do not have the same opportunity as you. I know I don't.

CROSSTALK: And you know that too.

ALLISON: And you know what, Scott?

ALLISON: Let me just tell you about me, I'm not, I'm not...

JENNINGS: I'm going to let you finish, but I want to answer this.

ALLISON: I'm not talking about how you feel. I'm talking about how I feel, me, a black woman in this country, and I will run, if you want me to...

PANEL MEMBER: Not in this city. Look, I'm not a New Yorker, not in this city. You can not say that. You can't say that in this city (crosstalk).

ALLISON: I'm not talking about New York, I'm talking about actual...

SCOTT JENNINGS: Let her finish. Let her finish.

ALLISON: I got a law degree, a master's, and two bachelors, probably more education than all of y'all added up together, right.

PANEL MEMBER: Fine by me.

ALLISON: And I have always been the least-paid person on payroll at every institution I have worked in, and it's not because...

PANEL MEMBER: Even in the White House?

ALLISON: Even in the White House

PANEL MEMBER: Well, whose fault is that? I don't think you worked for George W. or Trump.

ALLISON: Well, guess was, wasn't...was there when I was there. DEI.

Well, that's awkward because if Allison has "always been the least-paid person on payroll at every institution" she has worked at, that would include her current employer. In no uncertain terms, she's accusing CNN of racial discrimination against her. Perhaps she should file a lawsuit?

Of course, we all know she's not telling the truth. This is a woman who worked for the Biden-Harris campaign in 2020 as part of the transition team, long after DEI had been adopted by essentially every Democratic Party entity. If they were underpaying her, that wasn't because of a lack of DEI. She also had every opportunity to speak up at the time and didn't. So spare me the heroics of finger-wagging on CNN years later.

Allison's immediate pivot to how many degrees she has is also typical. It's part of the scourge of credentialism that has infested American politics and led to the corrupt institutions the Trump administration is trying to dismantle. Going to college over and over to get more documents to hang on the wall does not necessarily make you more intelligent or qualified than someone else, and the assumption that it does is discriminatory in and of itself. Allison is too arrogant to see that, though.

I'll give Scott Jennings credit for keeping his cool while she insulted everyone else to prop up her faux victimhood. He's got the patience of a saint.

Here's the best thing about Allison's rant, though. It doesn't matter. DEI is going away because it's destructive, both in the public and private sectors. There's no amount of yelling about racial identity politics is going to change that.

Returning to CNN, maybe Allison's producers should have a word with her about not accusing the people who sign her checks of malicious racial discrimination. I'm going to assume that wasn't in the rundown for the show.
