Don Lemon Interviews Voters on the Street, Doesn't Get the Answers He Was Expecting

I'm not sure what Don Lemon's day job is after getting fired from CNN, but he showed up in Atlantic City to do some "man on the street" interviews about the 2024 presidential election. While he was no doubt expecting to hear a lot of support for Kamala Harris in what is a solidly blue state, he got something completely different.

If you can't watch the video, I'll spoil it for you. Every single person Lemon spoke to either supported Donald Trump or believed Trump was going to win despite supporting Harris. At one point, the ex-CNN host even argued with a man who said he made more money before Joe Biden took over.

MAN: Four years ago, it was a lot better. I made a lot more money than I do now.

LEMON: I know you feel that way, but that's not what the record actually shows. The economy is actually better under Biden.

MAN: (Laughter)

LEMON: No, I'm serious, that's what the facts show.

MAN: Do you watch CNN?

LEMON: No, no, it's not because I watch CNN

You have to love the absolute arrogance it takes to tell a man that he's actually doing better under Joe Biden but that he's just too ill-informed to know it. What's in someone's bank account is what's in someone's bank account. National statistics are not individual results, but even if they were, wage growth hasn't outpaced inflation for most of Biden's presidency.

Here's another exchange with a black man on the boardwalk.

LEMON: Trump or Harris?

MAN: Trump.

LEMON: That's who's going to win?

MAN: That's who's gonna win.

LEMON: Who are you supporting?

MAN: I support Trump. All the people that came into this country legally, it's not fair that they're letting all 10,000 to 15,000 people or 20,000 people a year in illegally. Have you seen San Diego? They're coming off the boats, off the water right here, off the ocean. Did you know Biden was flying them in? Did you know Biden was flying them in? You didn't know that?

To be fair, that guy was just a little off on his estimate of those being let in illegally a year, and not in a good way for the border. I assume he meant 10,000 people per day, which has happened many times under Biden. If it were just 10,000 to 20,000 a year, we'd be golden.

Regardless, the segment ends with Lemon sitting at a slot machine complaining that he's got to get out of Atlantic City. That's a pretty big tell that things didn't go as planned.

Does any of this mean anything? I don't know. It's a bit like counting yard signs and trying to predict an election. There's no science to asking random people on the street who they are going to vote for. It sure is funny, though, when a left-winger talks to real human beings and gets more than he bargained for.
