For the Left, Even on Thanksgiving, the Humiliation Is the Point

While most Americans gathered around the dinner table to enjoy Thanksgiving together on Thursday, the destruction of the radical left continued apace. As RedState reported, pro-Hamas protesters glued themselves to the pavement and smeared fake blood everywhere in a ploy to disrupt the annual and iconic Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City.

A group of anti-Israel protestors interrupted the biggest holiday parade of the year by forcing the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade to alter its route, according to several reports Thanksgiving morning.

According to those reports, the group - which was seeking to raise awareness for Palestinians but espousing pro-Hamas propaganda - was clad in white jumpsuits and carried with them a large banner that read "liberation for Palestine and planet."

While I'm not exactly enthralled by giant balloons, I do have fond memories of the parade. As a kid, it was always on in the background as my grandmother put the finishing touches on her Thanksgiving feast, and besides, you need something to do before football starts.

That's when it hit me. These far left radicals aren't just trying to make a political point. They are trying to humiliate you. They don't just want to destroy the culture that shaped you as a person and gave you so much. They want you to feel shame for even enjoying it. They want you to know that they are in control and that they whatever you hold near and dear is worthless and undeserving of protection.

The modern left in all its incarnations, from those who want to defund the police to those who support literal terrorism, not only have no respect for American traditions, they see them as an active evil. Anyone who does respect them must be made to suffer because again, the humiliation is the point.

On that note, while out of town with my family this Thanksgiving in a popular tourist destination, we decided to go see a themed dinner show. Given I'm from the South, you can probably ascertain where we were since Southerners tend to have like three vacation spots they rotate through depending on what season it is. Regardless, while watching the show, I looked around at everyone enjoying themselves and felt a sense of dread.

It was an odd sensation to have while watching people swinging from the rafters as I enjoyed a piece of fried chicken. I felt that way, though, because there was a sense that all of this was going away eventually. That the loudest segment of the population would see everything about America reduced to intersectionalism and grievance. To go to a dinner show is to perpetuate privilege, and that can't be allowed in the country the far left is attempt to build as it tears down that once existed.

Even Thanksgiving dinner isn't safe. Take this headline from ABC News as an example.

Everything must be placed on the altar of leftism. That includes turkey and dressing, apparently. If you don't give them what they want regarding "climate change," then you don't get to have your traditional dinner with your family. You will be made to suffer.

That's the theme of the far left over and over. Humiliation. Destruction. Control. They aren't going to stop either. The only way off this path is to turn around, and that only happens if voters wake up and realize that the things they care about are in jeopardy.
