Tucker Carlson Roasts Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez's 'Invisible Handcuffs'

On Tuesday, multiple members of Congress were “arrested” after refusing to vacate the road that runs in front of the Supreme Court. Representatives Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Cori Bush, Ilhan Omar, and the rest of “The Squad” were led away by US Capitol Police after joining a protest centered on the overturning of Roe v. Wade. The USCP gave multiple warnings that went unheeded before they moved in.

But that wasn’t the most absurd part of the spectacle. Rather, it was that Ocasio-Cortez and Omar busted out their “invisible handcuffs” in order to make it appear they were being forcefully detained. Journalists ran with the story before having to embarrassingly correct themselves after it became clear there were no handcuffs used.

Tucker Carlson took to the air that evening and delivered a monologue on the ordeal, and in his typical fashion, it was full of humorous observations.

I won’t describe the whole clip because it’s one of those things you really have to watch, but needless to say, Carlson roasts “Sandy Cortez” for pretending to be in handcuffs after pretty clearly doing everything she could to force the USCP to “arrest” her. I put arrest in quotes because, as predicted, no charges were actually filed. Once again, AOC got her photo-op with no consequences to pay for breaking the law. That’s America’s dual justice system for you.

Carlson then goes after the media for taking AOC seriously, playing a montage of journalists describing her experience on January 6th as “harrowing,” a word that was apparently part of the distributed talking points at the time. What was AOC’s actual experience on January 6th? Well, she wasn’t even in the Capitol Building, so not much. But she’s nothing if she’s not a committed actress, and the media are always willing to do their duty in promoting her.

For her part, AOC is now claiming she pretended to be in handcuffs to avoid catching a charge for resisting arrest.

You’ve got to love the “I’m from the streets” act she’s constantly putting on. What does she know about resisting arrest? She grew up in a wealthy New York suburb and went to Boston University. The Capitol Police weren’t even trying to lead her away. She could have walked away herself, which is what Ilhan Omar did while doing the same “invisible handcuffs” routine. Besides, what does sexual assault have to do with AOC being a political con artist? She often brings that topic up as some kind of magical shield from criticism, though, I doubt Rep. Nancy Mace is going to play along.

You have to appreciate the farcical antics of Washington politicians, specifically those who fancy themselves “Democrat socialists.” These are children in positions of power, and they should be treated as such.
