BLM Co-Founder Patrisse Cullors is under scrutiny again for lavish spending. The self-proclaimed Marxist previously came under fire for buying multiple houses totaling over $3 million in value. Her defense for how a Marxist could justify that kind of capitalist indulgence fell short.
Now, it’s been revealed that one of Cullors “reform” organizations dropped $26,000 for “meetings” at a Malibu, CA resort.
It's unclear why Reform LA Jails booked time at the Malibu beach resort. I was unable to find any references to events the group organized at the resort.
A watchdog group suggested an audit is necessary to determine whether campaign funds were used for personal purposes.

A Los Angeles-based jail reform group led by BLM co-founder Patrisse Cullors spent nearly $26,000 for “meetings” at a luxury Malibu beach resort in 2019, according to campaign finance records reviewed by the Daily Caller News Foundation.
Reform LA Jails dropped $10,179 for “meetings and appearances” at the Calamigos Guest Ranch and Beach Club in Malibu, California, and another $15,593 at the Malibu Conference Center, a corporate conference facility owned by the resort, according to the records, which covered the time period between July and September 2019. Guests at the 200-acre resort, where rooms start at $600 a night, have exclusive access to a private five-acre strip of the Malibu coast.
There are legal and moral issues at play here. The group is apparently some kind of political fundraising arm, therefore they are subject to some campaign finance laws. What exactly those are, I can’t offer any insight into. There’s no chance any prosecutor would touch this with a ten-foot pole anyway. It’s too small potatoes when compared to the possible backlash.
Regardless, if one claims to be a Marxist, how exactly does a Malibu beach resort fit into that equation? Especially when the organization that Cullors runs is supposed to be all about social justice. How many people have given money to this person only to see it spent on big houses and lavish retreats? A group that exists to “reform LA jails” doesn’t need $600 a night hotel stays to “meet” about how they plan to do that.
But this shows the kind of grift that Black Lives Matter and other activist outfits are perpetrating on people. I certainly wouldn’t give money to these people, but there are a lot of otherwise well-meaning individuals who have and do. They should probably reconsider that choice immediately. Behind every Marxist is a raging capitalist who wants the lavish lifestyle to stop with them. Cullors fits that bill to the letter.
In a more sane media environment that wasn’t so completely in the tank for BLM, there would be serious investigative reporting going on to expose this. As it stands, that job is left to smaller, right-wing outfits like The Daily Caller. It shouldn’t be that way, but here we are.
